I NEED the bus, and so does many of the EMU and UM students. Reducing any service would be detrimental to our city, our university, and our environment.
-Michael Haynes, EMU Student Government
I can't imagine not having bus service in Ypsi. Being a 1-car family, it is my main mode of transportation when my husband has the car, or is locked out of said car and I have to rescue him!
Bus service is far too critical to cut. Ypsi and Ann Arbor are both terrific areas that are close but difficult to drive though. Way too many people rely on the buses to cut it.
I support this petition. Many residents depend on this bus service for their livlihood and both the Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor areas will suffer economically if the bus system is closed. Michigan needs MORE public transportation, certainly not less.
Yes, they are making cuts, but 33 and the 4 are NOT in danger! The 3 will no longer operate east of St. Joe's hosp., and the 5 won't operate east of...some street. The 33 is a COMPLETELY separate issue! It's paid for by EMU, NOT Ypsi!
I support this petition. The bus is my sole transportation outside the campus of Eastern. I take it everywhere. Not only do Eastern students take it, but I see MANY of the townspeople taking the bus routes. Many people don't have cars and the bus is their only way. Getting rid of it will harm the whole area of Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor.
