I support this petition. 1. this would cause way to meny problems for those who use it for work and school
2. ypsi has one of the highest proprerty taxes in the state.(higher than ann arbor) where is all this $$ going???
I support this petition. To believe that cutting services between Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor is a mistake. The links in consideration are the the main lines used by students and lower to middle class citizens that would not otherwise have a way into Ann Arbor. It is also a means to jeopardize many families and individuals routes, finances, and quotidian routines.
I support this petition. I work with many disabled individuals in the community and without proper bus service, their recreational, social and occupational lives will be seriously impacted.
I support this petition. From any kind of standpoint, this is a flawed idea. People will lose jobs, thus hurting the economy, and this kind of financial loss is only exacerbated by the fact that we are nearly on the verge of a gas criss. Students and employees alike NEED the bus to get by. Don't deny them that.
I support this petition. I do not drive for medical reasons. If this service is cut off, then I will not be able to keep my job. It's just that simple.
I support this petition. This is an elitist move to cut out the working class individuals that serve the community. Shame on the corporate slugs behind this decision.
Cutting this service will make it almost impossible for many students to get to work or school. Which means that they can't spend money in the community. I support this petition.
At at time when Ann Arbor and UM are trying to INCREASE bus use in the Ann Arbor area, this proposal does not make sense to me. This proposal comes off as yet another underhanded approach by wealthy individuals to cut back services to low income people in our community that may not be as informed as those who are more well off.
I support this petition. It is apalling that cutting bus service to and from Ypsi is even an option; it strikes me as a deliberately classist and possibly somewhat racist decision. Additionally, the use of public transportation should be encouraged as a means to more environmentally-friendly behavior.
The daily lives of the residents of Ypsilanti should be more highly valued than the desires of the Big Three.
I support this petition. Public transportation, especially for people who live in Ipsi and commute is very important. It is environmentally friendly and cost effective for those of us who can't afford a car, insurance, and parking.
I support this petition. It is impossible, especially for college students and lower income people w/o cars to get around without the bus system. The bus is a ton of people's transportation system to work and school and home.
I support this petition!! Many people rely on the bus service for school and work. Cutting this service would be a ridiculously stupid move for the community.
I support this petition. This is a valuable service to provide to those without access to other forms of transportation or unable to afford parking within Ann Arbor.
I support this petition. I use this bus service daily and rely on it to live in and be a member of the Ypsilanti community while attending U of M. Please continue this service for the students who rely on it, as well as the countless other citizens.
I support this petition. What the... Folks need to realize the jobs that would be lost on both ends. Rich get richer and the poor get poor. That makes a whole lot of sence. Hello if it don't make dollars it don't make sence.
I support this petition.
I think it would be a disaster if the bus service would be cut off. Everyone would feel the effect of the cuts. The bus system keeps these cities connected. To workers, to shoppers,to students, to the community. Both citites need to responsible in this effort at keeping the system running. Our streets are congested enough with cars. And for those who don't have them, the bus system is the best option out there. It would be a shame to take that away
I support this petition. This measure is very short-sighted. If people who rely on the bus to get to their Ann Arbor jobs are unemployed because of lack of transportation, our tax base will only suffer more. Ann Arbor should pay attention to this situation too, considering how much of their workforce is drawn (via bus) from Ypsi.
I strongly support this petition. The AATA lines between Ypsi and Ann Arbor make it possible for me to live in Ypsi and stay responsible to the community there.
If Ypsilanti becomes cut off from Ann Arbor via bus services, many people, primarily the underclass, will be affected. They have the smallest voices but the greatest need. Please retain bus service between Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti.
How in the world are people supposed to get back and forth to work, shopping, school and all the other places people need to go? Many people, myself included, need those buses and have relied on them since moving to this town. It would be a terrible burden for RideShare and People's Express if bus services were cut. And many people would have to leave their jobs.
Killing off bus service from Ypsilanti to Ann Arbor will kill off a vital passageway for transportation for students, professionals, the impoverished, and homeless alike. In this time of advocation for alternative fuel sources, ride-sharing and public transportation should me commended - non car-owners should not be penalized, and should not be inconvenienced.
Like many of my UM colleagues I work in Ann Arbor and live in Ypsi. If I have to take my car to work, I might as well move back to Ann Arbor where I could walk to work.
Others with limited incomes, with various diabilities that make it impossible to drive, and youth need the bus service, if Ypsi is going to remain a vital place to live, work and play.
I support this petition. As a student who stays on the border between the 2 cities, i rely on the bus to get to school. Many more students also rely on this service
I support this petition. Cutting Ann Arbor/Ypsi transit would sever a vital link between the cities, and create extreme difficulties for those who do not own cars. In addition, more reliance on public transportation is a must if we are to consider the environmental well being of our communities.
