I support this petition strongly. Many people who work and study in Ann Arbor don't make enough money to live there; this bus service is crucial and needs to be protected.
I strongly support this petition. My wife and I live in Ypsilanti and both work in downtown Ann Arbor. We carpool as often as we can but the bus is a big help when we can't. Whenever I ride, I'm struck by the number of people who take the bus from downtown Ypsilanti into Ann Arbor to work, and I'm guessing that mass transportation isn't a question of choice for many of them. Any cut in this bus service would have significant negative effects on the people of both cities.
I support this petition. Although I unfortunally can not ride the bus due to my current job discription, I am LOOKING for a job to where I can ride the bus. This is an issur for me.
I support this petition. How are people supposed to get around? Cycling from Ypsi to Ann Arbor is not too friendly. And, think about the environment.....very disappointed.
How can my city seriously consider abandoning it's own people by cutting the link between AA and Ypsilanti? I'm certain I wouldn't be able to be a homeowner in Ypsilanti today had it not been for the public transportation to AA - my job.
I support this petition. This AATA bus service is very valuable to me, for I make frequent trips to Ypsi and the bus is the only transportation for me. Taking away this route will negatively effect many people.
Public transportation is a crucial assetand many people rely on it on a daily basis. There must be no reduction or elimination of bus service between Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti.
I support this petition. This reduction or elimination is going to cause a huge parking problem. I use the bus to Ypsi so often and that encourages me not to buy a car.
I support this petition. I use the bus to get to class every day. The U of M bus is too far from me, and parking is too expensive and difficult to find and maintain on campus. Taking away the AATA will make it harder for people like me.
I support this petition.
It's the only way for me to get around town, and to get to Ypsi at the moment. I have noticed that over the years AATA has been cutting back things and I'm not sure what their problem is. We actually need more bus service in this city, not less!! I hate waiting 30+ minutes in the freezing winter, you would never experience bus service like that in Detroit. Right now the number 3 to Ypsi is the only bus I can take to get to Washtenaw communtiy college, it will be a hassle if I can no longer catch it. For people in Ypsi it's worse, because many of them have to commute to parts of Ann Arbor, and vice versa, so please keep this service. Please continue the service!
I support this petition.
I rely on the #3 and #4 to get to my classes at University of Michigan Law School.
My wife and I share a car, but she needs use of it during the day.
It would be a shame if we (or anyone in a similar situation) were forced to move to Ann Arbor because of bus closings.
bus service to Ann Arbor is essential for many people to get too and from work, and it cuts down on traffic. The number four in particular is often standing room only in the evenings, filled with commuters. It would be foolish, not to mention detrimental to the low income people who rely on you for transportation.
I support this petition.
This service is important to so many in the Ann Arbor- Ypsilanti community and to city planners nationwide that look to this service as an example. Please do not continue this service.
I support this petition because the bus is my only way to get to campus, as I live in Ypsilanti and am a graduate student at the University of Michigan.
I support this petition. I just graduated college and can't afford a car. The AATA is the only way that I can make it to work obligations. Think about ann arbor and ypsi residents' whose livlihood would be in jeopardy if we were to cut off their bus routes to work! it's really a scary thought that people would consider tampering with public transportation- ignoring the realities of the working class.
This bus system is amazing! Without it people would not be able to get to work, schoool, or shop. The bus system is a lifeline between A2 and Ypsi! Keep the system! Please!!
Public transportation is vital for many community members in getting to and from work.
It would be a huge mistake for the City to terminate the bust service.
I support this petition. My son is a WCC student that takes the bus daily to and from work. There are many elderly and young students that need the service.
I support this petition. Eliminating or reducing bus service would sever a very important life line between the 2 cities. There are students and workers that live in either Ann Arbor or Ypsi and work/go to school in the other. This would be extremely detrimental to them, and everyone else.
I support this petition. The buses are necessary for students of EMU and WCC whom are living in the area and require the services of the buses in order to access campus, grocery stores, and workplaces. Most students have enough to consider in paying for tuition, without the added expense of a vehicle, its maintenance, and gas consumption!
