Republicans (every single one!) in the Senate just voted against an amendment to the 2006 budget that would have given much needed money to firefighters, police, EMS agencies and First responders to be able to properly give care to humans living in the USA in all situations including terrorist attack. Way to go Republicans!

On the year 1982-83the president Ronald Regan sign a law to deduct a 60% of the benefits to all federal employees(Postal)Now is W Bush is trying to privitize the Social Security. What they should do is put all congressman and senators in the social security plan and you would see how fast everything get back on wheels and get all kind of good benefits.
Please do not mess with Social Security. Please increase the minimum wage to help the 'Working poor!" Please structure a medicare prescription plan that allows for bids and truly benefits the elderly - not just the drug companies.

Don't use SS to give the capitalist system new cash to redistribute to other capitalist who will appropriate our retirement income for their own selfish interests. That is our retirement money and must be protect and increased without individual accounts to provide for our retirement.
Increase mimimum wage so that all americans will have a liveable wage, keep out illegals so that only those working legally in our system can benefit for what american labor and unions have build for americans over the last 100+ years. Protect the hard work that our parents created by their hard work and battle to acceive the environmental, social, and cultural achievements and programs we have in America. social security privatization is a horrible idea . minimum wage should definitely should be increased as well life has gotten too expensive and minimum wage should definitely be increased to 10 dollars a hour.
While we are at it, pass a law that congress and senate cannot give themselves anymore raises, and cap their retirement, see how they like having to live off a fixed income, even if it would be more than then it takes the average american to make in 5 years. Bet that's never gonna happen.

Do not forget national health insurance. Many of the financial difficulties faced by the elderly and the working poor could be alleviated if they were not being constantly robbed by the health/insurance industries.
Very simply, Social Security does not need fixing; minimum wage needs an increase to $10.15. Then hard working Americans can save money on their own..not privatize Social Security.
This country needs to start taking care of all it's people not just the rich. Let people work and earn a fair wage and we will see great changes in the quality of life in the U.S.
The government already received enough money from the American public. The should be worring about investing and taking care of the money they already recieve and let us manage our savings and retirement funds.
No family can live off a min wage based on $5.15 an hour. Full-time that is only, $206 a week. $824 a month. That hardly, if even pays for rent, insurance, food, child care, utility, transportaion, and education for kids etc... No family can live off $824 a month. Min wage needs to be increased.

We plead with you, that you increase minimum wage for the working poor in this country. Everyone is going through something during these difficult times when everything from natural disasters, to jobs lots to out sourcing is occuring. When work is found it is a lot less than what the lost job paid. Since out sourcing in this country is at it's highest level ever, we can only beg for mercy for those who work hard but do not recieve a living wage. Also We ask that you hold off on privatizing Soc Sec. This seems very cuel to do to the people who depend on something to live on. I notice the disabled are not mentioned when you speak of the so called reform . That scares me to death, as I don't want to see a country who thows its seniors and the disabled into the streets, while the rich get tax breaks to make them richer. Its very old and heartless policy.I would pray to God for more mercy from the richest country on the planet. That it would not do this to its citizens who need and depend on this safty net to survive.
I have been around for a long time,so do not be in shock when I state the Repubicans have been trying to kill Social Security since it started,they(Republicans) use to call it a welfare program.Isn"t it amazing they have their hands in it also.I truly feel sorry for the low income,middle class republicans who believe this line of BS the Bush Administration is handing their own party,and they are buying it hook ,line and sinker.The republicans keep using the phrase,"it use to take 16?-45?working people,and now we have only,2-3,doing it ,so we are in really bad trouble.Now being my age,which is old,could the thing they forgot was the wages paid at the time.When I started in the work force wages paid were,.50-.75-1.25 per hour,now wages run ,low end$5.00-8.00-9.00 per hou so would it not seem as though it would take less employees to fund this program.This is the way I think about the big Republican Ad.Lie.

Yes, raise the cap. And fix some of the flaws that currently exist, like continuing benefits to children who have been adopted. Privitization would be the beginning of the end of Social Security Insurance.
Raise the Cap from $87,000.00 to $200,000.00 and the problem would be solved. Take a long. hard look at Means Testing. Why would a Millionaire need to draw Social Security and Medicare Benefits
