Signatures #1200 through #1300 for the Tell congress to stop social security privatizatio... petition
Steve Meiers said 04/25/05, 8:31 pm (verified)
Remove the Soc. Sec. cap, NOW. I earn more than the cap and would GLADLY pay more. It's for MY retirement! Why not? The fatcats in DC and elsewhere won't be happy until they have ALL the money AND the power. Whatever happened to caring about other PEOPLE? We also need a flat tax for people and corporations, stop all the BS and FIRE 90% of the IRS. Save government spending, end complex audits and loopholes for the wealthy. Peace

What's right for Americans? Stop social security privatization, incrase minimum wage. Pass, paper trial with non-partisan auditors, make our votes count and count the vote. Tax corporations that take jobs away from America. We need a congress that respects our current system in the Senate, we need to stop the waste, we need to start working towards energy independence using and working on development of all alternative fuel soarces. We need elected official that don't take trips with illegal donations to them. Let's make America for Americans, not multi-lateral corporations.

There are things called IRAs for people who want to invest in the markets. This privatization will only reduce benefits for those who need the security of this program. (And just imagine the administrative costs involved in such a government program!) Isn't it about time this president start listening to the people he's supposed to be working for? Bush is a foolish lying politician; certainly not a public servant.

Social Security is not an investment plan it's an insurance plan. Improve the existing program don't change it. No private account inside social security. We can set up our or risk driven private plans.

Our economy needs consumers here and abroad. Increasing the minimum wage and saving Social Security as it is after lifting the cap on earnings and extending unemployment insurance will do more to improve the economy than privatizing Social Security and keeping the long-term unemployed and the minimum wage employed at below poverty level.

Social Security is inviolate. Leave well enough alone. It's worked extremely well since 1935 - don't tamper with it. It's the most successful social legislation EVER PASSED. MINIMUM WAGE - should mean LIVABLE WAGE - and that means $10.00/Hour.

It is high time that exhorbitant amounts of money are spent on "feel good times" by Congress, as well as on this ongoing occupation of a country that does not want us there. The liberation of the country has been accomplished. If they still don't get how to live peacably with each other, we can't force it down their throats. We need to become a little bit more selfish and improve conditions for our nation whose standardn of living has been sorely slipping.

If people want to help those outside the USA then they can give money out of their OWN pockets rather thanfrom our taxes It is time to put America FIRST not the needs of other countries

we were not born with money like all you big money retards on the hill and can't aford to spend our minimum wage salaries on the stock market. think about it if we had money to invest we probably wouldn't need social security would we. once again we don't have money, because you and all your big money cronies ship out all the good jobs and we are left with the shaft. then when we get sick we have to pay crazy amounts of money because the insurance and pharmacutical companies have to foot the bill for all your your expensive tips to the tropics so. so then we have to use our credit cards that charge outragous amounts of money for interest and then we go bankrupt and then because of a new bill signed by you. we have to pay back the money we don't have. so what i am trying to say is you people suck. and your day is coming and your seat will be next to mine in hell when we die. because you deserve to go to hell and i want you to.

We already have 401K's and KEOGH's and IRA's if we eant to invest in the market. Has anyone seen investment commercials lately where they admit how UNSURE THE MARKET IS? Your power has gone to your small head and has you on a chain in the wrong direction. Try using your logic instead of following the blind man who is leading you.
