As a public school teacher, I see the children that you are bankrupting. How do you expect me to look them in the eyes and tell them that they will be paying over half of their income in taxes to fund your war? How do I tell them that they may die on the battlefields of Afghanistan, Iraw, Iran, Syria, or North Korea, because our all-volunteer military can barely cover the conflicts we have, let alone any more? You have shamed me in the eyes of my students, and for this I will never forgive you.

Why privatize social security? So Cheap-labor Conservatives will have a workforce that, without a safety net, will have to work for pennies until they drop dead, or starve in the streets. To Republicans, the (ever-shrinking) middle class and poor are only good for cannon fodder and slavery. With a massive federal deficit that preculedes ANY social spending, we will all be slaves to the ruling elite! This is the REAL plan. It must be stopped NOW!

I am 40, the first year of the Baby Bust. I have been paying "extra" since beginning to work in the early 80s to fund the Boomers retirement. My government has been spending this "surplus". Now you want me to keep paying for the Boomer's retirement, but not my own? That is NOT going to happen. As a child I recieved SS Disablilty dependent benefits for a short time. I want to know where is this benefit going to fit in? Have you priced this type of PRIVATE disablity insurance? My family makes over $100,000 a year and CANNOT afford this kind of insurance!!! Unlike yourselves, we who work in the hallowed private sector do not even have pensions any more. Have you looked at statistics regarding the % of money in small communities that comes from SS? This will be the death of the majority of small towns in this, your "home" state. I can see the 30 second commercial next election about you "Voting to KILL Social Security" I think this may be the best plan yet for having Democrats elected in Kansas. We will NOT forget in 2, 4, or 6 years. We are being radidalized by this arrogance from our "leaders".

Social Security has had no real problems until Bush was elected President. He's been robbing the trust and now panicing people into believing that Social Security will run out before they can collect. This is another way to make his rich corporate backers richer. It's going to cost approximately 2 trillon dollars to set up and run this program and that 2 trillon is better off going into the Social Security Trust Fund. Just think if they only raised the amount put into Social Security by $2.00 per paycheck how much more would be in the Trust or if they raised the cap by $50,000 how much more would be in there.

Privatizing Social Security will only benefit those with whom the funds are invested, just as the Medicare Prescription bill simply lines the pockets of the drug manufacturers and distributors. Leading economists say that SS is not in the "bind" that Bush would have us believe, and the changes he proposes will increase the deficit tremendously. We are involved in a war that will probably last at least a decade, yet the president continues to try to fix that which is not broken. As a taxpayer, worker and American citizen, it is my right to demand that the president, with the guidance of congress, clean up the messes already made before embarking on even more rash decisions. Those of us who did not support Bush (half of our country) deserve as much consideration as those who voted for him. I believe that all of his decisions, including the invasion of Iraq stem from two things. One is his obligation to pay back the corporate sector who helped elect him. The second is his attempt to establish a legacy for himself that was denied his father's presidency. The only way he and our congress can redeem themselves is to consider the forgotten middle class, support livable wages, and cease trying to sell us a "bill of goods" that isn't good at all.

After 40 years of paying taxes, and still in the work place, I would like to be able to sleep at night knowing that my gov't was standing behind me in my retirement, which is now at the age of 70, as we as a country stand behind those others who are in need. It's time to take care of our own as well as we take care of other people in other countries. I feel that the mininum wage should be at least $8.50 hr for adults, with room for increase, and if the medicare bill is not repealed, we will see alot more people dying at an earlier age because they won't be able to afford medications or even doctor visits. This to me is Unacceptable for We the People of these United States. We would like to see our grandchildren graduate from college, marry and have children of their own before we die. Without the medicare bill being repealed, many of us will never have that opportunity. Please, Mr. President, think of us, the "Little" people, who really keep this country going. Without us, where would our country be today!!

Bush's privatizing Social Security is another example of his total contempt for the average working American. It is also another move to relieve the very rich and the corporate sector of their responsibilities to the country. Bush first cut this group's tax burden and is now elimiinating their contributions to Social Security. It is just another Bush/Republican lie that Social Security is facing a crises. These same people authored the "WMD'S in Iraq" lies that caused the numerous unnecessary bloody deaths of American soldiers and inocent Iraqis. Once liers, always liers.

The minimum wage for adults must be at least $7.50 / hour. Privatization is dangerous and immoral, and it would leave an immediate huge deficit in Fed. govt.Shortfall for S.S. can easily be met by rescinding tax credits for those making over $500,000 and by removing present salary cap. If drug prices cannot be negotiated, we must be able to buy from Canada.
