Don't privatize social security. Leave it alone, make the rich pay more, they don't need Social security to begin with. Millions have lost good "union" jobs thanks to NAFTA, and I'm one of them. Then they can't understand why there's not enough people paying into the system. Wake up!!

Privatization of social security will further burden the American people. What will happen when people wrongly invest and lose their account balance? Will the gov't then have to bail these people out. The Thrift Savings Plan is the same as the Private Sector 40lk plans and is not the same as allowing for private accounts and to say otherwise is an out and out lie. This plan puts future generations at the mercy of the stock market and should the stock market fail, will the gov't then step in and have to start controling the market? We are moving into further and further gov't control not away from it.

I receive SSDI and you have not even said a peep about how you are going to dispose of those of us who are at the greatest risk! Social Security and Medicare are examples of the MOST SUCCESSFUL governmental programs ever in the history of government. It has not only LIFTED countless elderly and disabled persons out of poverty, but Medicare has the lowest administrative costs of ANY insurance program in existance today! Leave it the heck alone, Sir! You are already walking on thin ice as one of the least popular presidents ever, you may have the Justice Powell program nearing completion, but please at least leave some table scraps for the rest of us!

Privatization of Social Security is 'fixing' the only solid leg of a three-legged stool. Increase minimum wage equivalent to the increases given to senators and representatives. The people are as deserving -- and probably 10 times as needy -- as their elected representatives supposedly are.

Social security means money reserved. The social security administration should not be a crapshoot. Investments fail, therefore social security exists to make sure those of us who do not have a trust fund set-up by our royal family, may still enjoy food, shelter and clothing during our retirement.

As President Clinton, a Rhoedes Scholar had originally issued the idea of Social Security Reform, his policy was to do so during better economic times "and" not to tear-it down and destroy it, rather to enhance it. I'd pay extra taxes do so. I refuse to have my President continue this great-divide of our cultures, and demeaning Americans with fear, and scare tactics merely to give mine and future generations only security away - that of our societies only insurance that's been the only seperate institution within Wash. D.C. running flawlessly since it's great creation. We have more then several years to raise taxes when our economy is better, as I have grown weary of hearing Social Security is not secure when I know the Math and it is. It's unacceptable, myself and everyone I know of all political persuasions refuse to tolerate it. And I fully support this petition!
