We keep paying more and more and our government keeps spending it. Put the social security insurance money in a lock box and leave it alone! Please go get back the money that Bush gave out to the rich and put it back in the lock box too.
I am willing to pay an additional payroll tax of 2% to balance Social Security. Creating private accounts will only take more money out of the system, and those with the least amount of money will be the most vulnerable.
Social Security is supposed to be a safety net to lower the poverty rate of the elderly, NOT a slot machine, lottery ticket or get-rich scheme! Make the moderate changes needed to fix the program's future funding problems, and leave private investment to the individuals through 401(k)s, IRAs, etc.
Although it SHOULD be clear that Mr. Bush has little or no regard for anyone other than his wealthy and powerful (dare I say "Skull and Bones?")cronies, that seems not to be the case. We must ALL see to it that this "word" gets spread!!!
Bush is not The People's President. Bush only care's about Bush. Leave Social Security ALONE!!! Bush can find money to support is stupid ass war. He can find money to support Social Security.

He used God now you can't go much lower than that Exodus 21:22-25 Lets face it we have people that DO NOT even read their Own Bibles but Claim to be Christian here! Revelation 22:18 They are Ignorent & do not even know their own faith. They listen to Bush ROFL!!!! Jesus criticized the hypocrisy and legalism of the religious status quo, and chose to embrace an alternative spiritual path. (Matthew 23:1-36.) But none of them know this.... They listen to people because it's a lot easier than thinking for themselves! They are Lazy...
Bush wants to privatize social security for 3 reasons:
1. To help his Wall Street cronies get richer.
2. In the hope that more people will vote Republican because they own stock.
3. To destroy a 'liberal' program that helps average Americans.
Keep every dollar of existing social security taxes going to social security benefits. Eliminate the FICA cap, and balance that by expanding benefits to to those who have paid larger amounts into the program than currently possible.
If people want private accounts, let them do it with other money. Expand 401(k)s to make it possible for anyone to have such an account.
I think it's a very good idea to no longer cap the limit on Social Security taxes as that is bound to raise quite a bit of money for the trust fund and most likely would be all it would take to keep Social Security solvent. Imagine how much money would come into the trust fund if all those corporate CEO's had to pay Social Security taxes on all those millions they are paid each year!
Social Security should not be privatised. Most workers do notunderstand how and do not have the time to follow the market. This is a trickly way of benefiting the money market brokers
How can BUSH outsource American jobs because we are not willing to live on $6.50 an hour? Should I move to Countries like Mexico or India and work here just to make ends meet? It's bad enough being on Unemployment and now my retirement money is in a financial turmoil. We need to take care of our own before lining Congress' pockets and funding other Counties war's. Take care of the old, sick and young to build a better tomorrow. Medicine should be free to those who need it.
My friend and her husband both work jobs that pay $8 an hour and they have three kids. Two full time working parents can't even afford to FEED their kids.
Extending unemployment benefits past 6 months for those of us seeking work is very important.
Unemployment without any assistance can tear at the fabric of family life.
Please stop the insanity. Leave Social Security alone....do not tamper with it, except to raise the cap...It is an insurance program that we have paid into since 1937 - often its all some have.

The Bush Adiminstration's plan to "save" Social Security will only help the wealthy who already have more than enough. Social Security was created be FDR to ensure that Americans would not have to live in poverty in their later years. The Bush plan would divert needed funds into creating windfall profits for Financial Corportations. Please do not pass this legislation!
Bush should be IMPEACHED, along with his entire Administration (IF that's possible.), for ALL of their SERIOUS LIES to the American people! FAR more damning than a "BJ". I still can't believe he was re-elected.
Re: Privatization of Social Security...Why not just give people the money and let them bet on one turn of the roulette wheel or buy a single lottery ticket? It is a pure gamble and it is fixed so that only Wall Street Investors win.
Congress must repeal the faulty prescription drug benefit created solely to benefit Republican corporate interests and replace it with a simple 80 percent coverage benefit under Medicare Part B.
