Did you know that currently the first-time home buyers’ credit, which was enacted last year, must be repaid over 15 years, starting two years after the credit is claimed? (Under current law, the credit is capped at $7,500 and applies to purchases of primary homes after April 8, 2008, and before July 1, 2000.)
In the new Obama House and Senate proposals, people who buy homes in 2009 don’t have to pay back the credit as long as they don’t sell the house within three years.
WHAT?! Why do those of us who bought a home last year have to pay this back? Where is our bailout????? The first time homebuyers are what is going to revive this US real estate market! Please don't let us fall by the wayside. This is not fair.
