Polar Bears (Ursus Maritumus) need to be considered Endangered Species. They are losing their habitat very quickly, and without it they can’t hunt, mate, raise their cubs; they won’t survive!
We demand the protection of their habitats by reducing global warming through policies at the local, state and federal level.
Facts:
• Polar Bear can become extinct by the end of this century;
• The reduction of the hunting season, causes the reduction of the fat stores, body condition and consequently, reduced survival and reproduction;
• Artic average temperature has risen at almost twice the rate of the rest of the world;
• Global warming will likely increase the rates of human/bear interaction, as bigger portions of the Artic become more accessible to people and as polar bears are forced to spend more time on land waiting for ice formation. Increased human/bear interaction will almost certainly lead to increase Polar Bear mortality;
• This will be the first mammal to lose 100% of their habitat to global warming;
