I would like to first say that as a "sex offender" I would have to agree with a lot of which is said here. But some of us are charged under hateful circumstances, not truth. I basically had plea to something that did not happen, and I am also engaged to the "victim", in which she fully supports our situation. I am around these "types" all the time through therapy and most are very decent people. I agree that some cannot be helped, but that is far less than the most. Maybe if we get to the root of the problem, this whole issue may slow down in time. Some of the same people here that support this petition are also the same that support "Desperate Housewives" and many other sexually derived shows and entertainment. I remember a short time ago the country would not allow swearing on tv and nudity during prime hours...now it's everywhere. Most of the people I am with are there because they were also abused. This is not an excuse, but their "fate" did not start with an innocent beginning. And our classification of this system is horrible. Three numbers summarize the numerous amount of crimes in this catagory? It makes no sense when your actually in this situation. As an example... I'm sure you have all seen the commercial where a guy brags to his friends that he is going to "do it" and he runs across a football field naked. Everyone laughs, but yet someone in my group did a similar thing, jokingly, and he is now a "threat", a level 2 mind you. So this guys goals and chances in life should be cut because of this mistake? All I know is that I have worked very hard to be where I am today, had a great childhood, completed college, play an instrument, and love my family...and now I am subject to the same fate as the guy who sits in Chucky Cheese gawking at our kids... We all need to educate ourselves a bit more and get away from the damn
I think that it is horrible that the man that molested my 4 year-old son got out just days before his 10th birthday. More needs to be done to protect our children!
It is thought that males are not sexually assaulted, but as a youngster, I had a student above me try to rape me, but I managed to escape.
Tighten the laws, but also give help to those who either have, or think that they are at risk of committing a sexual evil on others.

My father sexually assaulted me from ages 2-12. He raped me once a week from ages 6-12. He was delighted when I was going to get married becaused then he could really f*ck me and I could get pregnant and have his baby. This is the real mind of a child molester. I lived it. He died 14 years ago, but I still live with it. Pedophiles should have the full extend of the law enforced against them.

I too suffered at the hands of child predators and I know all to well the emotional, mental and physical damage that it inflicts. As a criminal defense investigator I have interviewed too many sex offenders. I obtain information they would never share with law enforcement and which is very useful in how they think and how we can better serve our communities with the information. If you don't listen to the ugly details, you won't learn. There methods are many, they are creative and cunning. GPS systems won't make a huge dent in detouring them. You can run all the Perverted Justice stings you want but who is going to watch them when they are back amongst us? It is time to get do more to educate law enforcement, our citizens and our children. I support this petition.

I was one of these women that was raped as a child. And I feel that if these laws were in effect when I was a child then when I called the police I wouldn't have been laughed at and I wouldn't have had to run away all those times. Even now when I think back on it and all those nights when he came into my room just so he could molest me I still get sick to my stomach. So if this will help change the laws then I am all for it.

Our children are constantly being targeted. They can no longer play outside or walk to the park with friends. We need to make stronger laws against these monsters that have no rehabilitation. They torture kids and take their innocence away and they go back out into the streets after serving time with good behavior. When they come out, they go back and do the same or worse. Please make it mandatory life sentence for these inhumane creatures that I can not call people so our children can be safe once again.

This would never had happened if there had been stricter laws and more awareness that it wasn't the child's fault. I have a 2 yr old son & it scares me to death thinking about all the sickos that are out in the world....I want to protect my son & all children from all the bad things in the world. They are innocent & do not deserve horrible things to happen to them. They need to be protacted & it is our responsibility to do it....even if they arent your own children! i am a incest survivor so i firmly agree with everything in this petition. I have 2 children that need to protected unlike i was. There was no protection for me. I was alone and in some ways i will always feel alone. If you are reading this please think about this... your son or daughter is walking to the park after school and forgets to check in first and the only thing you remember is what they were wearing when they left for school and the next thing you know the police call and they found your child in a alley and your child has been sexually assulted,beated, but not killed, now you would want to hurt that person. then you find out the person who did this is your best friend. You turn them in. They only get 6 months in county jail. They fail to register on line. They repeat this horrible crime but this time they get away and they are not caught. I would love to think that if any of that legislation passes our children would be safe. There is no cure for sadism and sociopathy. There is no treatment that works on sex offenders. There have been therapies and treatments, but nothing that is even 50/50, and even those programs are experimental. But after years of debate and ideas I'm sick of being experimented on. Life sentences is the only proven way to go.
