SONY—PLEASE READ THIS LETTER. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT

The PSP™ (Playstation® Portable) system: A beautifully crafted piece of technology and the most powerful handheld gaming console out there. It is a unique jewel in the development scene, as well as in the user’s viewpoint. But there is a great and terrible downfall to its splendor; Sony, the ‘god’ of all gaming companies, has become the ‘over-protective father’ to its ‘teenage daughter’. In other words, instead of promoting the development, and not to mention the SUCCESS of the PSP™, Sony would rather spend useful time on preventing someone from changing their font, or allowing them to play Pong. This is extremely sad for all of us, and I know Sony isn’t getting anywhere with anything. They would see that the PSP would do SO much better if it was only opened up to the public. Take the PS3 for example: For some odd and DISTURBING reason, Sony has allowed its users to develop and customize the system. Why does that make sense?
Sony needs to step up to the plate and lower its standards just a bit. Here’s a personal message from me, and from everyone else:

“Sony, you aren’t going to get anywhere when you are making updates for the PSP™ everytime a new exploit is found. You’re setting up a grave for the PSP™ simply by making people update their systems and not being able to play their own creations. Afterall, we all spent $200+ on the handheld, as well as the rights to our individual consoles; customization is all we want. Just look at the big picture; people want to be able to be able to develop the PSP, just like on a PC or a Mac. Honestly, we all respect your company, and we will support it 100%, but you can’t be the ‘big brother’ all the time. Please, take this in to consideration in the next update. You’ll save yourself a whole bunch of money, as well as time. Thank you.”

With this information in mind, I’d like to begin a petition.
