I hate to break this to others but my Irish heritage was oppressed too. Getting paid a nickle a week and then taxed 3 cents for generations is not what I consider fair, and, no it is not slavery, but it is close enough to say we got the **** end of the stick. And now today I am yelled at and demeaned because I am white. I even had the experience of have a metal bed frame thrown at me because I am white and this is while I was carrying my 8 month old son. I also have had been discriminated against by a women for being a women, I was made to sit at the back of a bus by her. I promise every single one of you I know how it feels to be demeaned for the color of my skin, my Irish culture, and for my gender. It hurts and I have never in my life hated anyone for there color, culture, or gender. We are all made the same way (1 sperm, 1 egg) and we all die. No one is special because of race, that is just plain silly. When I think of special, I think of those with mental challenges that cause them to need extra care from nurses. My family didn't oppress anyone and I have already forgiven the narrow minded, short-sided European settlers of America for what they did to my Irish family through out history.
