Yes Randy commited a crime, and has served 3yrs of his 16 years sentence in Vietnam. His family fear for his life and his health as he has already lost far too much weight and his bad health is causing tooth loss and sores on his skin/ His family would like you to help bring him back to Canada to be closer to his family.///Just doing what I can for Randy and his family./Please Lets all try to bring him back to Canada closer to his family....
This is truly a sad case - he would never be treated this way in Canada. The Canadian Embassy should help me - even Karla served less time for a much bigger crime!!!
Just doing what I can to help out. I'm very sorry for what's happening to you, your family, and especially your son. If there is anything more I can do, email me.
Hi I am Randy's little brother! I am sad that my brother can't come home now! He has been gone for so long. I hope he will still remember me. Please come home Randy!! I love you so much!!! XXXOOO

I could not agree more. Send him home. The conditions sound like something out of a horror movie. I would not wish this upon anyone let alone a friends family member.
Randy by his own admission has made a terrible mistake, and while I feel 16 years is probably a little high, he definatley desreves to be treated with dignity and be given the chance to serve his time in a humane enviroment. I ask the Vietnamese Gov't to repatriate randy to canada to serve his sentence out there.
the lack of human rights that prisoners in VietNam suffer is horrendous. He must be released to Canadian officials as soon as possible. We must fight hard to secure his release before any more damage is done. please forward this to all contacts. We want Randy home!!!!!!
As Randy's step-father I respectfully request that the Vietnamese Government grant clemency/amnesty to Randy & allow him to return to Canada to serve the remainder of his sentence & receive the immediate medical attention that he needs. He has a very close loving family that will assume all financial debt/fines that Randy has incurred resulting from his incarceration. Please help us return him home to Canada, his heart-broken Mother, & fiance, his younger sister & brother & myself as soon as possible!
we are all humanebeings if this is how this country treats humans in their keeping why dont we as a technilogical superior culture unleash some superior technology on that government and let them all bath in the mud for a while see how they feel when their own children are being tortured and killed how many of there people are in our jails lets trade ours for theirs this country has no respect for human life. drop them all. i would if i were pres.
Dear Dee,
My heart and my prayers go out to you. My brother Stephen, has been in an Argentian prison for almost 3 years with out charges. Thank God for FPSS.
I really hope that this petition will do what you need it to do for your son. Everyone makes mistakes, but for some people it has devestating results. It isn't only the person who is in prison suffering, but the families also.
God bless you Dee

As Randy`s grandmother, My heart is filled with worry and he is always in my prayers. We wish that he could come home to Canada and finish his sentence here instead of somwhere we have no contact with him. He is a good man and knows what he has done wrong but he most certianly dosen`t deserve this horrendous burden. We worry for his health but know that he can pull through because he`s got his family and friends to back him up.
Please let him return to Canada to finish his sentence!
Please let this young man Randy be returned to his home country to serve out the remainder of his sentence. His family are suffering too much for the mistake of his doing. I trust the Vietnam Government is able to show mercy in this case. Thank you.
Please show some compassion for this young man as many of us Canadians did for your Vietnamese families during the boat people crisis in the 1980's
As a minister of the United Church of Canada I have known Randy James Sachs since the age of 14. I know his mother and the rest of his family who are loving, caring, individuals who are trying to improve this world in the many outreach programs they support whether its through conservation, humanity etc. Randy is a very intelligent young man who has made a terrible mistake in judgement. I believe that Randy has made great strides in rehabilitation in admitting his wrong.
It would certainly be better to his health if he was to be brought back to Canada to finish his incarceration, for his physical, mental and spiritual well being.
I strongly urge all governments (Vietnam and Canada, United Nations)to think about what is best for this young man and his family and society in general.
My thoughts and prayers are with all concerned.
Unfortunately this young man committed an offence in a country with no compassion. He should be allowed to serve time in Canada close to his family, may God bless and help this family.
Hello, my name is Colbie and I am Randys 13 yr old sister. He really is a good man!!He truley doesn't deserve this and neither do I or the rest of my family for that matter!
Please let my big brother come home to Canada soon!
I think that this young man would greatly benifit from serving his time in his home country. Being close to those who love him will be a giant advantage towards his rehabilitation. He could also be a voice of reason and experience for those young men and women who are haeding down the wrong road of life.
I respectfully appeal to the Government of Vietnam to show mercy on this family, and release Randy James Sachs to the care of the Canadian authorities.
