let him go home and do some community service or some shit that is abuse to him atleast give them what they need like doctors and dentist but do not treat them like animals
I'm so very sorry to hear about this i totaly do not agree with that type of punishment for a simple mistake that everyone will make one day at some time. Good Luck!
Everyone makes mistakes. The prisons here in Canada are so different than the ones in Vietnam. With poor nutrition, and living in a unsanitory environment, how long can someone survive? If my signature helps, by all means I will give it
I wish you Dee the best of luck in bring your son home to Canada. If this was my son I would be doing the same as you because we as parents will do anything in our power to make sure our children are safe. No one should ever have to go through what Randy has.
I think he should be brought back here to serve his sentence ... the Canadian Government should be doing something to help bring him back home before something awful happens
Yes its a crime, but 16 years! my friend was killed by a street racer and he was here illegaly from hong kong, he only served 9 mths in jail... I will pray for your son, and i hope he is retruned to you safely.
yes i hope the best for an early release for randy.when you think of the penalty for murder in most countries is less then that given to a young man in the prime of his life for making a mistake.
im canadian to and i feel the pain of wat ur goi nthrough canadians go through lots of problems because they think were all bad but were not were just like them
I think he should be brought home, but (not to sound cruel) tried on canadian soil and serve a canadian sencence HOWEVER the time he served in Vietnam should count towards his sentencing taking into account the standards of the vietnamese prisons. I also hope that more people like Dennis (the post before me) educate themselves on topics before deciding upon an opinion on it. If you don't you just make us all look bad. I myself will respect an opposing, but educated opinion much more than an uneducated one that agrees with me.
This tragic situation should be attended to by all people of good will. I will be travelling to Vietnam in a week to so charity work. The people of Vietnam mean a lot to me. I would hope the government of Vietnam would show compassion in this case for a young man serving a sentence far in excess of the wrongdoing.
cruel AND INHUMANE, AND ALL OVER SOME EXTACY TABLETS, IT IS ENOUGH PUNISHMENT JUST BEING IN THAT PRISON, BUT LETS FACE IT, IT WAS NOT SMART TO BE IN VIETNAM WITH EXTACY IN THE FIRST PLACE KNOWING THAT THEY ARE A COMMUNIST GOVERNMENT AND CARE LITTLE FOR THE RIGHTS OF PEOPLE.
I am so sorry! We all make mistakes and should get another chance. I pray for your son and other prisoners. My heart goes out to every single person there. Foreigner or not.
I think that the sentencing handed out is far too extreme we all make mistakes in life, murderers are out in less time or have small sentences handed out to begin with, I pray for Randy to be free I am more than positive he has learned his lesson
The person has committed crime he should not be let off but he should be provided with adequate hygeinic facilities .It is his/her right and i stand for that. infact I am of the opinion that a trial should be run against the authorities who are providing such inhuman facilities. Its much more henious crime than possesing ecstacy tablets.
Keep faith in GOD.The conditions in all prisons are bad. I almost wish there were no prisons because of the conditions and the maltreatment people suffer in them. I have never seen anyone improve after being caged in inhumane hellhouses. I pray your son is released and returned home to you.
