I think anyone who isn’t black shouldn’t do hip hop. hip hop is for black people. it was started by black people and the majority of those rappers are black. Therefore it is apart of African American culture and African American only. Leave hip hop to the Blackman. Cant black people have something to themselves without having to involve another race. I hate seeing Spanish, white and Chinese people doing hip hop. Doesn’t fat Joe understand that hip hop is for blacks? And what the hell was he doing at the source awards and BET awards when he aint black. The source awards mean black awards. the Bet awards means black entertainment television awards. fat Joe aint black so he has no business being there. and what was emenim doing on 106 and park. 106 and park started out as a solid African American video show. and now its gone from black to yellow. Emenimem is a wannabe Blackman and he has no business being on BET. I don’t even why he does hip hop. Why can’t he just do rock'n roll like the rest of his people. and leave the Blackman’s music alone. And that Chinese rapper. I don’t know what his name is. Wing Chung or something. He came out with a hip hop song called yall gone learn Chinese. Hip hop has a large affect on the African American communities because it is apart of black urban culture. How is some Chinese wannabe gone tell a black person to learn Chinese when a urban black person barely know how to speak proper English. Come on now. Wing Chung, Emenim, and fat Joe need to do their own music and leave the Blackman’s music alone. Finally the Blackman has something he can call his own and then the next thing you know, a Chinese or Spanish guy is joining along with him. Why can’t the Blackman just have something to himself without involving all these other people? The Whiteman, the yellow man and whatever color he is man, has their own music. The Blackman didn’t. so what these wiggaz, yiggaz, and spiggaz need to do is perform their own music. And you cant say that hip hop is apart of every races culture because it wasn’t started by every race and the majority of those rappers aren’t every race. ya feeling me?

Hiphop in america started out from blacks.. The mainstream is still mostly black but the underground, where the real hiphop is is multiracial and the hiphop scene in places such as the UK has been multiracial from the start.. Music is not refined to colour and black people can start listening to gothic music whenever they want. welcome to a free world..ignorant prick

It is extremely worrying that people as ignorant and racist as yourself are given the privilege to leave such comments in the public domain of the internet. Yes, rap music was formed through the black influences of soul, reggae, street funk, bebop etc...so in that sense it is possible to label it 'black music'. White involvement within the rap scene (as rappers, producers, DJs...) can be traced back to the 1980s - only a few years after rap's impact on the mainstream music industry. The fact that you say white people should stick to their own music just shows how un-educated and ill-informed you actually are. Rock music (emo, indie, grunge) are all formed through the influence of rock n roll of the 1950s - this was considered 'black' music at the time so why are you not trying to keep this from white people? It is a fact that all cultures influence other cultures at some point or another - it is the wayh in which Western society operates. Perhaps the most worrying statement of all though is this: "A urban black man barely know how to speak proper english..." - after reading your statement, I assume you are black yourself? Not only are you deluded and racist in your attempts to "keep the white man at bay" from 'black' music, but you demonstrate levels of low self-esteem and hold a negative image of black society. Black music is defined by black people, not white people. There would be public outcry if white people were to label rock / dance / country as 'white' music, as this has highly racist connotations of refusing black people to participate as either artists or listeners. Hopefully this demonstrates the error of your ways... Should Jay-Z have been dragged off stage at a recent Glastonbury 2008 performance for sampling AC/DC's music and performing to a predominantly white crowd...? Of course not
