Attention all Irish Windsurfers

Galway City Council Planning Department has issued an enforcement notice against Rusheen Bay Windsurfing for unauthorised Development. This means that the school is being forced to take away all the containers and structures for reasons of planning permission.

Please help us to save the windsurfing school at Rusheen Bay and protect our right to windsurf there by signing this petition.

If you leave your name and email address you will automatically become a member of the Irish Windsurfing Association, who are lobbying on our behalf and on behalf of all windsurfers to keep access to the seas open to all.

I used to bird watch a bit myself and the windsurfers don't bother them in the slightest, its a great service for the galway community.

This is a disgrace.The centre has done so much for the kids and community that i dont see the logic in deciding now, when it has earned such a fantastic reputation all over the country,that it needs to be brought to an end.If anything they should be getting support from the Council.

The Rusheen Bay facility is unique to this part of Ireland and should be supported. Galway County Council have approved more dubious projects in the past - they shouldn't be so quick to point the finger.

Cathal has done so much for the young kids in the surrounding areas.RBW has been there for so long now, can the county council not save something that provides so much for the local area or do they have a hidden agenda!! Well you can't beat an election year!!!!!
