It was wrong to suspend her. By the way, how come Ann Coulter has nothing done to her when she mentions that she wishes that someone ASSASSINATES John Edwards. I know Ann Coulter does not work for AAR, but we can not be suspending people or having them lose their jobs because someone does not like what they say. End of story.
I believe that Randi needs to be immediately reinstated. This is a country where Free Speech is supposedly one of the great blessings of being and living here. Thank you.
I love Air America and what it's done for this country... however, a BIG part of your success is having Randi part of your lineup. You're only hurting yourself, and your loyal listeners, by suspending her. You knew what you were getting when you hired her. You're doing no one a favor by this suspension.
Air America has been a bastion of free speech, until now. Free speech is supremely guaranteed, and surrendering it under the threat of bullies and corporatism is a sure declaration to those who are against the necessary liberties that make these United States unique that those liberties were worthless in the first place. It will only hasten their antagonism of our personal and Civil rights. Please, make a stand and bring Randi Rhodes back to the air.
Sometimes a passionate person can go a little far, but thats why we listen...at least she backs up her passion with actual documents and facts. We can overlook the occasional emotional outburst...lord knows Limbaugh and all the others get away with mouth murder everyday! Get a grip people, it wasn't even on air!? What are we 2?
I was at the SF show. Randi performed a comedy routine, not a segment of her radio show. BTW, we are not electing a new president...we are electing a whole new administration. The reason many Democrats prefer Obama over Clinton, is we want a WHOLE new administration not a recycled previous one. Look what happened when the Bush syndicate came back into power. They brought the same old pack of ex-Nixon, ex-Reagan psychopaths and the whole world was screwed.
I will not listen too or support Air America in ANY fashion unitl Ms. Rhodes is reinstated. Hey Randi, Mike Malloy said you could come over to the station he's on. We got your back Randi.
Apparently we have lost the right of freedom of speech in America. I'll say goodbye to Air America unless Randi Rhodes is reinstated. This suspension is crazy.
She should never have been suspended. I don't always agree with everything she says but this is America and a Progressive radio station is supposed to honor, respect and in fact worship the constitution and what it stands for, shame on AAR.
Bring her back now! I will cancel my premium membership I've held for 3 years if you don't. She was speaking at a private event and absolutely no Air America sponsorship was visible anywhere at the event. She did stand up, she cussed, she spoke truth, but she didn't deserve to be censored. Here in Los Angeles 90% of the time my radio is tuned to ktlk 1150 Air America. THe whole reason I listen is largely thanks to Randi. WHat she said may have been harsh, but since when do we censor ideas on Air America anyway? Randi si the driving heart of Air America, please bring her back. Till then I'll be dialed into NPR.
I thought thatLlarry Flint and the courts had settled this argument. Mr. Flint paid a very heavy price to fight this battle. You do not have to agree with the content of a statement or depiction in order to agree with a persons right to express it.
Many American have given their lives defending the right to speach without being demonzied or persecuted. I believe that the owners/operators of AAR want the network to be more controlled by the leaders of the democratic party. In that regard no criticism of the democratic party is advised. Furthermore the Clintons have a lot of clout in hte party and have demonstrated thuggish behavior already.
Randi is one of the few shows left on Air America I still listen to - you can't take her away too as you have with so many other wonderful hosts. I just rejoined XM so I could listen to Randi and Rachel Maddow again - was it a mistake?
Another Huge Mistake AAR - just like Mike Malloy. Randi was doing Stand-Up Comedy for G-d's sake. Just because you're for Clinton, doesn't mean everyone else has to be. This is America - Freedom - isn't it? I don't buy your reasoning for Randi's suspension - we can see through it. We're smart now - Thanx to Randi Rhodes. Randi was performing obvious harsh comedy/satire...and I understand it was a private, paid event, not an Air America event. Limbaugh and Savage say hateful/non-satire remarks constantly, without any repercussions.I hope her suspension is short.
