If you can't say it on the Air because of the Rules, and you can't say it on stage because it might upset your employer. Then There is no free public speech now, at least if your employed.
Randi's anti-Clinton tirades have been over the line lately, esp. when they venture out of the realm of fact into paranoid speculation, but a week of suspension is enough for this. I hope she'll come back saner and funnier--and soon.
I attended the event. Randi was commended for the appearance by AAR management at the time. It wasn't until Larry Johnson edited it and placed it on youtube that AAR management changed their minds due to political pressure. This is AAR's fault, not Randi's
I wrote to Mark Green regarding Randi and her dismissive way of knocking Hillary Clinton. I did not think it appropriate, yet I think she should be reinstated.
No wonder conservative talk radio has 126? hours to 1 of liberal talk; they know better than to kick off Limbaugh or Savage for their disgusting remarks made on air. Shame on you for supporting another conservative agenda--that of squelching the voice of those who are sometimes wrong and often right. Let her audience decide that they don't want to hear her rhetoric anymore, not you.
Bring Randi back now. What she said wasn't on her radio show. Randi is the best there is on talk radio. She tells it like it is and always has the facts to back up what she says. It's okay for FOX news to have Ann Coulter on there show last week and she compared Obama to Hitler, but they suspend Randi. Wake up Air America.
I fought to keep Randi on the air in Madison, WI. We've learned so much, laughed and cried along the way. Let's keep her on the air to help us through these dark times. I need the laughs and continuing education she provides. Prove that AA supports Freedom of Speech.
AA hired Randi for her ability to draw people into political debate. She's good, and yes, she can be opinionated. I like that. More than any other radio host, she has the ability to connect the dots on issues usually long before others understand the ramifications. The radio airwaves seems dominated by right wing voices...Randi is a breath of fresh. Reinstate Now!
I have been a faithful listener to Air America since the day it came on the air. From 6am (now 9am) until 6 or 7 in the evening, my radio or computer has been tuned non-stop to AA. However, I am so outraged and disgusted by the either politically motivated or cowardice of Randi Rhodes suspension, I refuse to listen to one minute of Air America until she is reinstated. And if Ms. Rhodes decides to not return to AA, I will henceforth get my progressive radio elsewhere. I wonder how many more like me there are.
The fact that she was more or less doing comedy at the time and NOT broadcasting is rarely mentioned. To suspend her for this is simply a wimpy move on AAR's part. Bring her back!
Bring her back - we need her fearlessness, no matter what. Devotion to facts is what her radio show is about; her comedy isn't the same as her broadcasting.

Look, the Hillary Campaign didn't fire Bill Clinton when he made racist statements, and they resisted doing so when Ferraro made racist statements.Imus made his quip over the air, to millions of listeners, who were immediately outraged and offended. Rhodes made her statement impromptu at a live appearance that provoked no immediate reaction.Is Air America this hard up for attention?
I listen to Randi every day and want her back!! Over the weekend this suspension came up in conversations with my conservative family who used it as ammunition against the progressive movement. Another distraction from a most important ISSUES centered election year. Please reinstate Randi right away!

The comments that Randi made were part of a standup comedy routine. They were made off the air. This is an attack on freedom of speech.
