This has always been one of my favourite Neil Young albums. I personally prefer his forays into the "ditch". The guitar work on Last Dance alone is well worth the price of admission.
Whatever the reason for this album being withheld, it is small compared to the raw brilliance exhibited in the music. Release the album and open the ears of a new generation of Neil Young fans.
I've only heard the title track of this album, and it whetted my apetite. Please, don't make me have to dl it illegally or scrounge bootleger hangouts to find a copy. Neil, don't wait until the break of day....
C'mon Neil. I need to purchase my 4th or 5th copy of this masterpiece.... couple LP's, cassette, 8 track...before long CDs will be obsolete and you will have missed the boat this medium...
Time Fades Away became a statement to my high school yeas. When most kids were listening to JOurney or Prog rock like Rush, I was engulfed in Neildom. The early 80's were a tough time to be a Neil fan with his experimental concerts and such. I enjoyed every show I saw but found myself defending my main man to all the other so called fans. LA or Wheel in The Sky? Come ON!!!!!!
Time Fades Away evokes strong emotions for me. I loved listening to this album along with Tonight's The Night and On The Beach. I'm sure we all agree that all of Neil's albums should be available.
If Reprise is going to relase a "greatest hits" album for non-Neil fans, they should release TFA for the devoted and deserving long time fans who can name more Neil albums then just Harvest. It's for the fans, folks.
You can hear the rage in the man's voice - If you wanted to sit in a dark room with sunglasses on, drinkin' whiskey, then this might be the album you want playin'.
I seem to be one of the lucky few who have a good vinyl copy of the album; recently I reinstalled my LP-player and have been playing the album regularly. It's superb! a lot of very good songs, but Don't be Denied is certainly the best.
Fons.
Get with the program here and get this out on CD. My original vinyl is great, but it sure would be nice for those who have never heard this album to be able to purchase it. It's a great piece of work.
