I just have to have this album, I have everything else, this is the only thing that's missing... the bigger the mystery surrounding it gets the bigger the my obsession gets... certainly 'cause it's considered to be one of his best albums. I don't get it; this is just like when On the Beach, American Stars 'n' Bars, Hawks and Doves and Re-Ac-Tor weren't available on CD...why?!? Neil himself says that he can't get the sound quality up tothe standard he likes, well the fans don't care, and it's not like he himself cared with the rest of his albums...
I'd love to have it...can't get enough Neil, and this is from a great time period in his music. I'm for re-releasing the Album version!! Let's keep it real!! CD's are the devil.
i think "time fades away " is one of neils best. i remember i had the 8 track when it came out and i wore it out listening to it in my car. i was intrested to read how it was a turnpoint album for some fans. some turning away' some getting even more into neils music, i was one that it made get even more into neil. i loved it. i live in summerside, P.E.I. Canada
We need to have this on our home. This is how we expose our kids to important music/ideas. Let us make the choice to buy it or not. Please hear our voice.
I purchased my first Lp copy in 1976. The thin newspaper print lyric sheet that came with the album finally gave up the ghost around 1990. I still rely on a nicely dubbed cassette for my frequent journeys through the past.
'Spine tingly intense, nerve wrecked and nerve wrecking, suberb songwriting and rough around the edge performances. It's been one of my favorites for ages: it's Neil at his hard rocking best ('Last Dance', 'Don't Be Denied'), but it also contains hidden gems such as 'Love in Mind' and 'Don't Be Denied'. No home should be without it.
Thanks for your good heart Neil--you're a man who uses humble ways to make a difference in the lives of those hurting and impoverished. Whether it be farmers or Katrina victims, or 9/11 victims--we know your heart is in the right place. There's not one album you should ever be ashamed of. We who see the goodness of your heart love all your work. Thanks for blessing us for so many years. God's speed Neil. Billy Bruce
This album has always been mystical to me. It is moody and adrift but yet it is an intense listening experience...my jaw drops and i can hear the plane that neil is on...this was one of the most profound statements of the seventies and stands as its own, reminds me of what a van gogh painting would sound like
Why not? There's a whole mess of us Neil fans out here just itching to get our hands on a legitimate cd copy. Until then, I'll listen to my vinyl, very carefully.
I'm such a great fan of Neil Young... please release this album, in France we are also Neil Young's fans, and it will be a fantastic new to have this album finally released. We all loved On The Beach, why there shouldn't be this Time Fades Away ? ...
