I got so lucky. I was on vacation in Portland Oregon and walked into the "For Whats Its Worth" used music store and saw Times Fade Away for a few bucks. I started listening to it Sept. 05. I sware it may be his very best. There is just something about it you can't explain. After realizing I obtained such a treasure, I prayed to God thanking him.
I was born in 1968 in Fort Rouge. First heard of Neil Young from Irish people while in Ireland as I only lived in Fort Rouge until 1971 who had all his albums at our Mount Temple school in Dublin. I am friends to this day with a chap whose brother plays in shall we say "a famous other rock band" who were in the upper classes and at times we did talk and meet some of them. Told Hewson at the time (Bono) and Fachtna O'Ceallaigh (Bob Geldof's manager)at Dockers a defunct pub that we were drinking at with Seb if you need a benchmark (Bono is really cocky at times); Neil's the man as he says to me "what f*&^%$ ever came out of Canada after 7 pints of stout to our 4. After speaking of people like Neil and Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen who Bono thought were Americans (they were all pretty naive a bit at the time when I look back like we all would be at 15 to their 22), he was indeed humbled for once (not an easy task). Later Dik and Dave Evans (Edge) said that Time Fades Away was a benchmark live album with "The Last Waltz" according to Dik, not Edge to admire as it featured unreleased material as live recordings. As they have worked with Robbie Robertson, its interesting looking back after 4 pints of stout that this reference still holds true and maybe you can contact Edge in Malibu if that is where you are from for verification of this conversation. I work in energy industry now in Canada with my wife and 3 children. Told Bono as this was the time of "War" that this will be your "make or break album" if you were ever to make it out of the fold staying in Dublin. How ironic how future musicians would be so influenced by Neil. In time, some consideration will be given in historical terms for the re release of this album.

The very first album I ever bought was Harvest. In college, turned on to Powderfinger by a couple of friends
one night, my jaw dropped at his guitar solos.
Now, at age 50, I am rediscovering the incredible sensitivities of this amazing artist captured through his lyrics. But through it all Neil Young is a rocker's rocker, and should be heard live whenever possible, and in the absence of this - live albums. Please share this energy with us!
please release this musical gem, once had this on LP during the mid-70's the album cover alone brings back memories of when I was still in High school,Neil Young fans everywhere in this Universe beg for the release or better put ESCAPE!!!
with an album like "on the beach" nearly slipping through every avid fans ear_shot.i believe it would be a great loss to the music world in genneral if this album never saw the light of day.So release it Neil God damn it!!
I was lucky enough in the late 80`s to get all my Neil Young on vynl. I have a copy of Time Fades and it`s in mint...reading what I read, I am a lucky chap. The best song on the album for me is "the last dance" a good chugging guitar riff..this heavy weight rock and roll!
