I saw CSNY at Wembley stadium in 1974 and when they played 'Don't Be Denied' from my favourite neil young album, it really was a great moment in a 16 year olds life. i have the original album still but it is worn out through playing it on my parent's stereogram during the mid 70s. Come on Neil! Give me back my youth!
This was the first record that i got upon arriving at the University O Mississippi. I loved hearing the "story" of young Neil. later I read his father's account of the same story.I became known as the "Neil Young fan" amongst the leonard Skynard people.i also appreciated the next installment in the Neil Young guitar lessons. "Don't Be Denied" taught me how to use inversions of chords. A great record. It went well with the bootleg: "Young Man's Fancy" (All acoustic of Harvest and assorted songs including a great "Ohio"). Means from Takoma Park, Maryland. Oh Yes i almost forgot include the rest of the material from the shows with the release. there must be some crosby and or Nash material along with other neil songs.
the album is one of the greatest rock-documents and includes some of the best neil young-songs ever. the quality of my vinyl sounds very bad after playing over 30 years ago.
Regardless of Reprise, the original buying public, and Blender, I still love this album, but vinyl eventually becomes toast. Don't be denied is the best!
I got my turntable & mp3 converter two days ago. Not hard to guess which was the first piece out of the hundreds of neglected bits of plastic to get the treatment eh? Yup, Time Fades Away is now on my iPod. John Zaradin plays Rodrigo Concierto de Aranjuez (also criminally unavailable) was the second piece to get recorded. It is truly fantastic to hear the music again. Last Dance at 45rpm was awesome – you really can dance to it! Still, for goodness sake, the dang thing should be released whatever the constraints of the process might be. If Living with War can be written, played and recorded in a week despite the limitations of that process (and it sure shows in the dreadful mind-numbing drumming) then I don’t see why TFA cannot be let loose again.
Frome,UK. Have just travelled to US to see CSNY - that's a testament to Neil's place on the world stage in the 21st century. Please release this album.
