discuss in forums For an entire generation of Cardinals fans, Willie McGee was the face of the team. From his spectacular debut in 1982 to his retirement in 1999, Willie was a fan favorite. During his time with the Cardinals Willie was an MVP, two time batting champion, four time all-star and three time Gold Glove winner. Even though he was traded away in 1990, he returned in 1996 and picked up right where he left off as a St. Louis icon.

Please help in getting Willie's number 51 retired/ The Cardinals are opening a new ballpark this year and a ceremony for Willie would be a great way to christen the inaugural season.
