You'd be picking up a show that has a very wide following at the moment and would only grow. Plus, you'd get money off of future DVD sales (for which there is clearly already a following).
At first, I was quite skeptical of a show that had only 14 episodes and was cancelled. After reluctantly watching it with a friend, I discovered Firefly to be the best television show I have ever seen. Properly marketed, Firefly has the potential to be extraordinarily profitable for any television network with the wisdom and foresight to revive it.
Fox has a habit of cancelling the best shows on network TV. Firefly was begging for a 5-season run to show off its greatness - and was trampled to death before it even had a chance. Still there is a loyal fanbase worldwide who would be glad to see it resurrected in another season of episodes or series of straight to DVD episodes.
This is by far the best TV show I have ever seen, although it's lifespan was cut too short. The charchters and world the show delved into have claimed a special place in my heart, a true testament of a fine show since its life span was only 14 episodes. Please revive this show and let it draw a new audience.
I bought Firefly on DVD not that long ago, and I watched it and loved what I saw. More than that though, so did those I watched it with... including my mother, father, sister, and best friend. Bring Firefly back to us! There's a loyal fanbase already, you won't regret it.
I missed this when it was on fox. I found it from picking the dvd up at the library. I bought a copy of it for myself, saw Serenity multiple times, will buy that dvd, and would pay to see it as a show! I do not currently have any premium cable channels.
We are not rich but we make more than 100K a year and are worth some note from sponsors. We like Firefly and would like to see new episodes. What does Fox know anyway. It took a huge uproar for them to keep airing Amer Most Wanted and Firefly is fiction.....harder to convince the network boobs. Jo
I had no idea until I saw the movie; how could Fox network be so stupid! I now have the Series DVD collection and have watched them all at least 3 times. I will be buying the movie and hope that some network will pickup and begin with new episodes. This is a decent show and deserves to go on!
Firefly was on TV for barely a matter of months, yet it managed to do what other shows could only dream of doing after years of being on the air. Give our Big Damn Heroes the Big Damn comeback they deserve!
Firefly is the Scifi series that Star Trek Enterprise tried and failed to be. A rough and dim view of the future, that should not be glossed over. I hope that Firefly in some form will return to the screen.
This is an awesome series that attracts an unually broad spectrum of viewers. Unfortunately, its potential has gone untapped! I hope that someone will pick up the series and produce it with the same integrity as it exists in now. Imagine...
