It's a great series. I'm from Germany and the series just came out on DVD here. It's sad to watch the first season of a so wonderful series for the first time with already having in mind that it is cancelled. Hopefully not definite.
I don't usually watch tv nor am I a Western or Sci-fi genre fan but I love Joss Whedon's writing and his ability to weave seemingly infinite layers intriguing elements on all creative levels in a series to keep me interested. With all the diluted sub-standard crap on tv, this series is a jewel and it's an insult to the medium that this series was cancelled while others are still on the air.
'Firefly' has a large and loyal world-wide fanbase, and 'Serenity' has seen that fanbase broaden and continue to grow. We WILL support this show, wherever it ends up.
I think that Firefly is one of the greatest shows to be on the air so far this century. But the story was just beginning, and there's so much more that could be done!
