I really enjoy this show. It's an interesting blend of the old west and the future. I didn't know about it until the movie came out. Now that I know about the show, I'm upset that it's not continueing.
Having seen Serenity before the series, and watched the series in entirety afterward, I'm surprised Firefly was canceled at all.
HBO would do well with it.
PLEASE BRING THIS SHOW BACK!!
We as fans do not know if we will ever again see our beloved crew on television, and the success of the movie has brought in many more fans and would definately be a worthwhile investment! Please work with them Joss!!
This show is awsome. I own the tv series, I saw the movie , bought the movie soundtrack, will buy the movie on Dec 20, looking everywhere for the tv soundtrack. All my friends own a copy ofthe show. Love the mixed culture, it works on many levels.
Please revive the show.
I already subscribe to HBO and would be ecstatic if the channel would include a revived Firefly series among its shows. If another pay channel such as Showtime would pick up Firefly, I would definitely subscribe. Firefly is a show with a huge, ready-made fan base and the capacity to attract many, many more viewers.
Its a great show, because it takes us into a future that most do not see. Star Trek was about exploring, Star Wars was about battles and how the future is going to be a hell of a ride, and Stargate is a comedy about making friends and how corrupt diplomacy is (since diplomacy never works and they end up shooting their way out anyway). Firefly is about the pro's and con's of living. Yeah everyone has some problems, and crime still exists. There are friendships, betrayals, and just making it through a day without dying. They have this cool ship, but it break's down and is old comparatively. They travel places where the people ride on horses and life is simple. They through in a lot a comedy, but its in a mature way which adults will find hilarious. The show is how the future probable will be like, still a pain in the ass but with cooler gadgets.
I just started watching the DVD of this show and it is seriously the best show I've seen. Funny, smart, exciting, amazing characters...it's pure insanity that it was cancelled! We need quality like this back on TV!
DUDE! THIS SERIES ROCKS! Why cancel it! It's Angel being cancelled all over again! I loved Angel too and it's just not the same just having the series on dvd...for a start you can't get new episodes!
if anyone of you guys actually sat down and watched this show, or knows how well joss whedon is with stories, there is no way that you would pass up on one of his shows, especally firefly!
I loved this show from the first time I accidentally saw it on TV back in 02, since then I've tried to get as many people to see the movie/tv show as I can.
If its money and/or viewers you want, put Firefly on your schedule. This series means too much to too many people. Bring it back and you will not regret it!
