I saw the the movie in theatre with my girlfriend and a friend of ours. We loved it.
I personally think that this is the most entertainting naturalistic sci-fi movie that I have ever seen.
I went straight to a shop and bought the Firefly boxset. We are currently half-way through the first episode and are loving every bit of it. My girlfriend and I think that it would be a shame if there wasn't a second series or at least another movie.
Firefly is an amazing series. I can't think of another live action series I have become this attached too. Star Trek is good and all but it can get alittle crowded. Then there Andromeda, it's interesting but the effects are pretty rough and the characters' interaction with each other is similarily average. When ever I turn on the Space channel I can't shake the feeling that i would rather be watching a new episode of Firefly, than what ever else is playing. I wish I had been watching as it was released. BRING BACK FIREFLY!
Just saw the movie and now I'm definitely going to buy the show DVD set. I'd subscribe to any cable network carrying new episodes and even buy those DVDs as well!
Just want to say that Fox has always been too quick to drop a show. I hope this one can find a home somewhere before the actors all find another project to work on.
I truly hope that the show could be brought back, it's by far one of my all time favorites out there and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of possibly seeing more or it, that would be oh so cool!!
This is an excellent movie, which has spawned interest in me in the series. I have seen the movie with my wife, brother, and several friends, and we all enjoyed it immensely. My brother and a friend both both the DVD series. An excellent series!
This is the smartest, most enjoyable show I have seen in a LONG time. I would love to see it re-enter production. I do not currently subscribe to ANY premium cable networks, but would do so without second thought if I heard new episodes of Firefly were being aired.
_Could_ have been the best SciFi show ever, had it been given a chance... As it is, I'd still rank it in the top 5 (along with Babylon 5, Star Trek [all series/movies included as one], and Battlestar Galactica [both old and new treated as a set], and the Twilight Zone).
I watched the show on Sci Fi Channel and loved it and I thought Serenity was fantastic. I think it would be wonderful if someone would continue production of this superb series.
I loved the original series & was shocked when it got cancelled. I've put both the TV set & Movie on my Xmas wishlist at Amazon. Although I don't currently subscribe to cable at all, I will if there are new episodes of Firefly produced.
There are few series that have entranced my attention as much as this one. I would set aside my time just to watch it, without fail. I was a regular watcher of "OZ" and "The Sopranos". I think there could be a good home for "Firefly" on your network, where it would have the room it needs to express itself the way it was intended to. HBO has always been very supportive of it's miniseries. All this show needs in order to be a success is someone to believe in it. None of it's failures in the past have ever been based on the show itself, just how it was presented/marketed. But don't take my word for it. Take the word of the other thousands as well.
Let Firefly live, in any way shape or form. I my self am trying to get a roleplay continuing the legend msn group: XxFirefly RPGxX wanna join go ahead.
Firefly Forever
This is a great show. It is well written. However, the masses don't tend to gravitate towards sci fi so our best chance to have Serenity's story continue at all or to maintain its magic is to stay on sci fi and the orginal producers.
Firefly is a great show. The characters 'fit in' with the background, instead of just being cardboard caricatures of people placed in 'odd' situations. This show is smart and witty, unlike most of the drivel on TV these days. Please bring the show back.
This is a great show. And, like many great sci-fi shows, it is not given the time it needs to come into its own. I currently do not subscribe to your services, but would do so to watch this show.
I would be a faithful viewer if Firefly were to return as a series with the cast and their chemistry. I would even buy advertiser's products. Really. Or if a cable outlet such as HBO or Showtime picked it up, I would, of course, be a subscriber.
