I do not have HBO, but would get it to watch Firefly.
I just bought the box set.
I have a few episodes Tivod and watch them DAILY.
WILL PAY FOR MORE FIREFLY
Why would FOX discontinue such a great seies? Please pick this up and continue the story! (Note: I've bought the series on DVD and have the movie on order)
I only found out about Firefly once the DVD came out and saw it at a friend's house. Despite the fact that I watch a lot of TV (including many FOX shows), I never even knew this show existed...Ask 100 people on the street what they thought of Firefly, and 99% of them won't know what you're talking about. Those that *have* seen it generally love it.
This show was set to become legendary, but unfortunately, short sightedness has led to people being denied a show that's worth the time and money spent on it.
Bring back FIREFLY.
Firefly was well written, acted, directed, and shot. Every scene is a pleasure to watch and every character draws empathy and sympathy from the audience. This show generated strong support and would be a strong investment.
I have seen every episode of House, Lost and Arrested Development so far. Now I've added Firefly to that list.
It practically makes me cry to know that there won't be any more Firefly episodes.
I am a late convert to Firefly. I found the quality extraordinary. It was bold in many ways: the ability to hold suspense with quiet moments, terrific music, the fun "band of rogues" theme and the relief not to meet the three-eyed "alien" of the week. When you consider that Star Trek was concieved as "Wagonwheel in space" the merging of space and "old West" themes is the least radical part of Firefly.
Here's the business pitch: Star Trek got tired. Star Wars is finished. But the a huge hunger for space sagas remains. If I could so late in the day discover and become a Firefly fan, so can many others -- and as this petition signifies, Firefly has already begun to build a passionate core audience despite less than a single full season.

It's an amazing show. I don't think anyone I know who has seen it is able to resist getting sucked into it. I never thought I would get into anything Scifi or Western.
I would love to see it but would rather pay $50 then pay for a premium cable channel that only offers me high budget/low quality "blockbusters". But I LOVE firefly and would love to see more episodes made, even if I have to wait for the next dvd set to come out. :)
i think it's a geat idea that we should consider HBO as a new network for firefly, for that HBO has so many new shows that are just blowing every other tv show out of the water. we have a chance to do it. like what jane said in firefly. if you cant do something right do something stupid.
The show is fantastic, it may not be attracting the audience of buffy but it will grow over time. The movie was fantastic but again didn't gross greatly because of a lack of coverage - give it a chance.
Revive the series! Maybe the folks that haven't seen it will pick up on it, especially w/word of mouth from the movie. I WANT MY FIREFLY BACK!! I, too, would watch it at 3 a.m.
Bring back firefly, it was undeserving of it's fate. I offer up lesser shows like Just Shoot me and Dharma and Greg which lasted longer with no real explaination
I enjoyed the Firefly series & the film Serenity even though I had never heard of either beforehand. I would like to see more of this series as it is definitely a superior sci-fi show and much more enjoyable than any current sci-fi series. The characters are both well-rounded and diverse and it is the characters that made the series for me.
Firefly has been the most refreshing show I've watched in I can't remember how long. I'm amazed at how I didn't even realize what it was when FOX tried to air it.
Since seeing it, I've bought the DVD collection, saw the movie MULTIPLE times and will purchase the movie when it comes out.
Any premium channel that would carry a new Firefly series would have my money. Period.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD BRING IT BACK!! Even if the ratings arent huge....whoever picks it up will get tons of DVD sales...however, i'm not sure FOX is going to let the rights go. Even if another network wanted to pick it up, it could prove very difficult
