I just finished watching the series on DVD and all I can say is wow. This was a refreshingly different sci fi series. The characters seemed like real people I could relate too. If you were to pick up this series I would glady subscribe to HBO just for this. I feel that part of the reason for Firefly's demise was that it was shown (in Seattle at least) on the sci fi network. I'm thinking that there is not a lot of exposure there.
Anyhow, this was a great series. I hope it comes back. . .
I support this petition becuase Firefly deserves to be on the air. It was one of the few true scifi shows out there, as oppossed to the action/adventure shows with aliens that masquerade as such.
This show is amazing. The characters are all great, and I just love it. I am so sad that this show is not still on. I can't believe that Fox would cancel this show, and then put on a TV show that is about Pam Anderson's boobs.
I support this petition. Firefly was a great show, Serenity was a great movie. It deserves to live on. The world is just too interesting to just let go...
We need to get a channel to show the original episodes first before we can even think of getting new eps.
If its a success on the channel then you can start looking for new eps
FOX You guys lose. Serenity was a big hit. Firefly was too. You guys are just plain blind. Things gotta grow. Firefly didn't even get a full season. I spit on you!
I may be a late addition to the fanbase, but seeing Serenity piqued my interest and I have fallen in love with yet another Joss Whedon project. The world is a better place with his honest sense of humor. Please bring back Firefly
Firefly is an amazing show that was simply on at the wrong time. Looking at the history of television shows that have aired on Fox on Fridays and have quickly faded away are too numerous to name them all in full...but some of them are Dark Angel, Brimstone, there was a new one that just came out that I heard was good...something about a gangster trying to make his life right again...that just got cancelled not too long ago. Firefly is a quality television show that was on at the wrong time and was doomed to fail by the network, not the people. Someone should pick this up, Sci Fi channel, HBO, somebody.
Firefly would be the perfect addition to any of the 3 major cable networks. HBO Cinimax and Showtime would each greatly benifit from such a sucessful series.
