The six proposed names for the new Richmond AA baseball team - Flatheads, Hush Puppies, Rock Hoppers, Rhinos, Hambones, and Flying Squirrels - do not appropriately represent the city of Richmond.

We want team management to hold another public vote for the team name, including the names Richmond Rapids, Richmond Rebels, Richmond Rivermen, and Richmond Artillery as possible choices. We want team management to abide by the results of the new vote.

By adding my name to this petition, I certify that I am a baseball fan in the Richmond area who will not buy any memorabilia bearing any of the original six proposed names

I just saw that the \"vote\" was for the flying squirrels. In my 44 years as a native Virginian I have NEVER seen a flying squirrel. This is, in my opinion, the worst name of the six.

I support this petition. Very sad we lost the Braves. I went to Mary Baldwin College, where our mascot was a squirrel, and I\'ve never heard a something said about it that wasn\'t a joke. I would expect alot more for a city. I agree that anything river or rapid related would be great as it is a feature that makes our city unique. Good luck trying to change it.
