==Worst News Since The Fall of the Moon Kingdom==

Toei/Cloverway, the current holder of all anime licenses, has refused to renew or grant licenses to anyone for any of the Sailor Moon animes.
In plain terms, they have shut off all the anime (animated) versions of SM, anywhere, in order to promote their new live-action version of Sailor Moon, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, which is running only in Japan. PGSM is a very low-budget production with virtually no support anywhere, so Toei has shut off all the other versions of SM (Including sales rights to the movies and dvd's of the series) to gain support for this version that they haven't put much funding into. Naoko (the exalted creator) has been involved in this decision: however, it is unknown whether or not she knows about the fan base here in the US's objections.
Adding vinegar to this wound, SOS (Save Our Sailors) has decided, because of this decision, to disband: their news database will remain online but there will be no more updates. This is a tragic time for Mooniacs. It may be better at this time to turn to fansubs and fandubs, which, while not technically legal, are better than nothing.

P.S. - I will admit, after seeing a preview of PGSM, it looks very cute. However, the chances of PGSM being brought to America are none to none, so I will stand by my opinion ... anime over live action for SM.
