Pete Rose, old Charlie Hustle..... he was many a boys hero. Yeah his mistake hurt us all. Now he has admitted his mistakes. His hits record will survive the test of time. He deserves to take his rightful place amongst baseball's best ever. MLB can never take that away from him. Pete, you're the man.
I remember exactly where I was when Rose broke the hitting record. I was in the Navy and playing a 9-holes of speed golf at lunch time. One of the guys with us was from Cincy and had a radio on while we played.
I support this petition. Charlie Hustle was a "huge" influence on many kids in the 70's & 80's and his love of the game far outweights the bad decisions he's made in life.
