I just want to got to a game and watch Victory play some nice football that I know is at a better standard than the one I'm playing at, like Queensland or Sydney does, who keep the ball on the deck, like all the good teams in the world do. If I can be taught to do this in a State 2 team then surely an A-league team should know better, but then again, the players are trying to follow the coach's lead, which is clearly mis-guided. If the long bomb works then use it, if it doesnt, the coach needs to have a brain to change the game either with smart substitutions or a complete change in tactics. Learn to pick the weakness in the opposition that complements the team's strengths, that's how you win games Merrick!! Get rid of Merrick or support for Victory will plummet!!
I support this petition. As a Victory member, from the outset I was concerned with our style of play (and recruiting). After our recent dismal home form I turned to my friend after seeing the 1,000th long ball sent forward by our defenders to their defenders and we both said "it has to be the manager instructing them to do this."
I still think his treatment of Kitzy early on was appalling and showed that he had no idea when it came to spotting a matchwinner and the type of player that we need at the Victory (instead of some midielders that excel only in running at the opposition only to kick the ball at their shins hoping for a fortuitous rebound.
Not a big fan of Sarkies, he doesn't deliver enough goals for the position he plays...he's a show pony. But Merrick/Cole/Lord must go. They have no idea how to run a professional football club. Just hope we don't get Farina. Any chance of us poaching Kosmina?

How can the administration keep a coach who changed the team that beat sydney 5-0 for absolutely no reason. He has no real tactical knowledge. Where is this supposed "attacking football" he always talks about but never actually commits to.
I support this petition. What the people are saying about Merrick is correct. He is borring, he makes the wrong decitions during times when the victory r on top, has made the wrong desitions picking players for the team. Then there are players who should be sacked as well, 1. Andy Vlahos why u ask, well simple my grandmother can ran faster then him and she's dead, and 2. Allsop. pls people how dum is this player, why do u have a striker that is never forward and always in the midfield, and also doesn't run. What Melb Victory need is a coach that isn't scared to try new things, two new strickers prefer ones that run and have skill, two new midfield players again that run and have skill (Look into gettting some Korean or Jap players) and also have a captain that has brains and that he thinks of the team and not of himself.

I support this petition. - Ernie Merrick is a liability to Melbourne's ultimate success in the A-League. We need a coach with good experience, along with an actual personality! The constant robotic droning of "I think we did well" at the end of each match really gets on your nerves, doesnt it!

So many games tried yet he still chooses Vlahos and Ferrante who between have directly assisted in just the one goal while players such as the afforementioned Tadrosse aswell as Kristian Sarkies, who has set up four times the amount a put in and out of the side.
Now, while I've had to rely on the good people from SEN (aswell as intertstate streamed radio) to listen to the game because 1. I don't have much money. 2. I'm not willing to be at the Geelong Train Station at 11pm at night 3. My location and 4. I don't have Fox so haven't been able to see much of the games, from what I have seen, we aren't the title challenging side we should be.
6 games won, 4 of which were in a row, a goal rate of just above 1 goal per game. You are shamefully proving Kevin Sheedy right.
When I see this Victory side play next season, I want good football and I don't want the away side providing it.

After a promising start to the season, I am bewildered how we could fall from grace so quickly. Merric has summoned what i thought, and still do, the best squad in the league. He however cannot manage for his life..or his job and must go.
I support this petition as Ernie is only a good coach and not an excellent Football Manager. You need to appoint someone who has a technical mind with creative plays. The powers of be @ MVFC should look at our Now Successful National Side for inspiration and advice.

I must sat that i agree to all what is said in this petition bar the accusation that Danny Allsopp is a useless striker. Danny works his ass off for MVFC and he may have missed a few chances but he is with no doubt the hardest working player at the club. OUT ERNIE..or it will OUT MELBOURNE

I agree that Ernie may not be the best coach but do you really think that Geoff Lord and the Directors at Victory are not aware of the teams results and what should happen for the next year. Give us a break. The Directors are all succesfull business men who would buy and sell the people who arranged this site.
