this shit is ridiculous. Who even needs "big brother" when a majority of people link themselves up like that. Do you guys think that facebook doesn't backup ever change? If someone flags you smoking a joint, ever, even if you remove it, reconsider applying to a good grad school.
I want standards for facebook. One of the best things about it is the relative exclusivity but even that's being demeaned. If there can be "fake" accoutns facebook will no longer be a safe haven for students to freely exchange ideas and information.
Facebook was unique. It was a college only social group. It had class. It was not that trash called MySpace. MySpace is a place for whores a pimps. It has no class. I always respected Facebook for the restrictions it placed on membership. And yea, it was ok to let the rising freshmen in, to give them a taste. But to let Facebook go completely public would be a world wide rape of the last social network that had class. Please reconsider, and bring Facebook back to its roots. For God's sake, think of the implications. I implore you, DO NOT let Facebook go public. I and millions of others like me will be forced to give up the shred of hope we had for American society. The day Facebook becomes public is the day American society begins to slide into the murky depths of hell.
