this is complete bullcrap i think that facebook is really screwing themselves over with this.. i think the last thing they want to do is end up what happening to myspace with people getting arrested for photos and crimes.. i mean come on its not like they can monitor all of that.. facebook has less than 10 million members while myspace has a mind boggling 160 million people.. i dont think people want this.. if you do then you can just forget about facebook and go back to myspace... i mean middle school kids shouldnt be exposed to this yet
Open facebooks "doors" to the public will open all the controversy Myspace has to deal with.. all those 90 year old creepy men petifiles disguising themselves. i know thats why i switched to facebook. Also the fact you there is a "no network" section has already allowed people like parents middle schoolers on to the site. I think myspace is awful. I liked Facebook most when it was for college students and alumni ONLY! I wasn't too trilled when they opened it up to highschool kids and knew it would go down hill from there.
I don't see any reason why facebook needs to open up to the public. It should be restricted to high school and college students only! There are a plethora of other public domains for people to log on and interact (eg. myspace, my dear diary, etc.) Keep facebook for students only!!

Facebook should only be available to college students: not high school students, not people with a work e-mail, and definitely not people with neither of the before mentioned.

It's not only a tool find find *classmates* (in college) and friends you don't see as often, it's a way to get to know other people from your *college*. I don't use Myspace anymore for a REASON! I have nothing against high schoolers. I have many friends still in HS. But they have their own website. We should have ours! And yes, the 50-year-old perverted men argument is valid, as well...>_
This is pathetic. People are joining multiple networks. It is turning into a massive can of worms. Middle-schoolers are getting on here trying to get into the college groups and get into the college scene. it is another myspace. Im going to steal this idea and keep it strictly college kids. It will have success and shut facebook down. It will be my creation and myspace. Zuckerburg is a tool, facebook lives no longer. i have a myspace,the reason i joined facebook was because i wanted to meet some of the students at my university, and to connect with old friends at other colleges. we raged when you first let high school kids join, that blew over because we realized we werent going to win,but to let parents and such join is rediculous, if i wanted to talk to everyone, i wouldve stuck with myspace and said screw facebook.now its to the point when i dont even want to sign on. forget facebook. i have more privacy on myspace.
