Facebook was supposed to be the alternative to MySpace--a cooler place where we didn't have to worry about HTML and stalkers and whose pictures were the best. MySpace was a popularity contest. Facebook is turning into that, too.
I joined facebook because it seemed like a small, safe website on which i could communicate with my friends. I prefered it to myspace because it seemed safer, more secure: you don't hear about sexual Facebook predators. If facebook is opened to the public it will become a myspace copy which is the very last thing I, and many others, desire to happen to this site.
If you want to use a public social utility, use Myspace; it's not our fault it's been corrupted by ten-yer olds and pedophiles. Facebook was designed for college students, and should stay that way.

I want a clean atmosphere to sign onto I feel that that will be compromized if free acsess is given for face book. It should be for college students only.
Don't let Facebook go public! it's a good way to get to know people before they go to college. If it goes public, it will be like Myspace #2. and everyone knows that Myspace blows.

Facebook was once only available to University & College students, this kept out a lot of immature people, and strange old creepers.
Stick to the book! go back to the old ways!! .. It is what separated Facebook from Myspace or any other creepy website.
Facebook is a great tool that connects college students,alumni, and friends after college what's wrong with that? It's perfect! We feel that it is safe and age appropriate...don'ttake that away!
I was sort of ok with adding in high schoolers, and then got wondering about the point behind all the no network people but DON'T MAKE FACEBOOK PUBLIC!!! The point of it was for COLLEGE STUDENTS!!! If you don't go to college then go join myspace or go to college!
Facebook is a safer place for us to stay in contact with our friends unlike myspace. No one will want to go to facebook anymore because it will be overrun with advertisements and creepy people that can learn anything about you. This is a bad Idea.

Facebook just opened its membership to all people, this means that creepy old people can get on facebook, this means that your parents can get on facebook, this means that facebook is not an onlie directory for college students like we have grown to love it as, this means that facebook is no better than myspace or xanga!
The reason why I like facebook so much mroe than mysapce is because of the fact that there are restrictions on who can join. I don't ahve to worry about my parents getting into my life or anyone else's parent for that matter. Sure you can make it private, but I'd rather not be forced into doing this just because some 70 year old could be looking me up. Not to say that all eldrly people are perverts but there are some and I don't feel like having them look em up. I feel much safer knowing that the chance of having someone that shouldn't be on facebook isn't and by allowing anyone to join, I loose this security.
