Ive come down from Canada to visit the park, and enjoy legal offroading... w/o Paragon, your town and it's businesses are losing a lot of tourism dollars...
I seriously doubt that you need the money that badly.Think of how much money will be wasted in legal fees for illegal use of properties such as this.As long as PAP honors all lease requirements you should be honest and trustworthy enough to stick by your agreement. If your hurting for money that bad then try holding some benefit wheeling days to help ensure the longevity of the PAP.Money can't really buy long term happiness,so just think of all the people you will be taking that away from.I sincerly hope you change your minds on helping the destruction of such a fun hobby. In fifty years we probably won't be allowed to off-road anywhere other than our own backyards, and there's a tree-hugger out there that will even try to stop that.
This lease is not olnly about ethics and your binding contract, but it the means that this land provides for is one of the fastest growing recreational activities avaiable. I curretnly serve as Chariman of the EAstern Schuylkill Recreation Commission. I know that their is untapped funing avaible for ATV ing and off road enthusists. I would encuorge the keeping of this park and would also like to help with any other type of prject. We have a stafff grant writer also available. Please keep this alive...
Although I do not off road now, I did years ago.My son does and I support this totally. There is not enough space left for folks to go and enjoy themselves. Government, Counties, developers and the powers that be would rather take it all away and then complain when trouble starts, after they have taken away exactly what keeps people together and out of trouble. This Development has to be stopped!
They are making it harder and harder for us to find places to ride quads and drive our jeeps. Why shut down one more. We need places like this so we can stay out of the state parks they dont want us in in the first place. Plus how much fun is a day at paragon
First of all....honor the lease. Do real business, how you feel in their shoes. The have created/established a well known business. There needs to land set aside for places like this instead of putting in another shopping center or Super Wal-Mart or business. I am sure there are other places to do what you need to do.
Paragon is a fun, legal place for 4 wheelers to get together. It is a well maintained recreational park that should not be stolen back from these people. What about national competitions that are held there? What about the clubs and groups and families that go for a weekend away?
Loosing PAP will have an immediate effect the Hazleton area. But in a very short time, it's effect will be felt by the wheeling community, country wide...
We MUST keep PAP ALIVE!!!
Another example of a few people with money and political connections attempting to shaft the public for personal gain. Despicable what they are attempting....honor the 25 year lease!
They ought to be profiting enough from the park; it's extremely greedy to sell the land for more money. On top of that, the park employees have put so much time and effort into the trails, that shouldn't be stolen from them.
The park is a good thing for this area! I have been going to the park since the begining and have seen the change and economic groth it brings to the area with out hurting anyone! I know theres a need for groth just take it in the right direction!
Offroad parks are good for everyone. Local businesses like restaurants, hotels, parts stores, and even shopping centers (wives come too, even ones that don’t like to ride). Plus it gives people a legal place to ride and that cuts back on trespassing on private lands.
