KEEP THE PARK OPEN. I am sure the revenue it brings in to the local community is more beneficial the any other plans. Has anybody in the local area thought of how many people, businesses it will adversly effect? When $$ is involved they never think of the little guy, just their own greedy wallets.
Paragon is a huge component of our friends and family lifestyle that promotes a non drug alcohol social environment that can be enjoyed by everyone in society and if closed, will have a dramatic effect on many that I know in my life in a negative way.
There are fewer off-road parks available each year. Clubs that support this sport are instrumental in cleaning up the environment and creating a safe place to gather.
A social and family recreational pastime is on the brink of total loss.
This is the NE permier outdoor offroading venue that supports a lifestyle that maintains a strong family valueunit and public social cohesive link that should not be broken.
Don't close the park . The only thing the land is good for is wheeling. Construction in this area will be expensive and very disruptive to the enviroment .
Don,'t try and force paragon out it's one of the only places that you can go wheeling on the east coast and I have been several times and seen the kind of money it brings in to the area.
I am one of the many Jersey folk that use this park due to the lack of facilities in New Jersey . And was actually planning on buying property in the area of Hazleton Pa to keep my 4X4 closer to the park . Enjoying the park monthly will be loss for me , family and friends. At which we use the local hotels , restaurants etc
Was planning a group ride this year w/ friends.
Was planning on utilizing local businesss like Hotel, resturants, gas and entertainment for 3-4 days. Please keep open.
I believe that the closing of PAP would be a huge blow to the small economy of the area and unfair to the buisness owners of PAP with early termination of their lease. PAP is the only reason I drive from Northern NY to visit PA.
Off road parks are becomeing a thing of the past as the options for young enthusiasts dissapears there is more likelyness that their talents will be wasted or that their spare time will be used on other illegal or harmfull things. it is healthy to have a hobby where the whole family can enjoy the great outdoors and families can spend time enjoying a hobby together.
It's difficult enough for off-road drivers and riders these days to find a place where they can enjoy the sport. In an effort to take back some of the wrong-doings of those who off-road in areas that are restricted, it is important to have areas where it IS permitted for those who DO respect the damage that can be caused, and make an effort to minimize it.
Less and less land is available 4 wheeling. Paragaon is a place we cann meet and activily persue our passion for the great outdoors in a safe, structured enviroment. Closing the park would not only endanger the surrounding land that is protected by having organized trails, but is also makes for legal use of off-roads much more challanging. I also think it is bad buisness to force someone out of their lease. The owners put all of their money and soul into making Paragon what it is today.
I am a member of the Great Lakes Four Wheel Drive Association. We spend a great deal of money at the park and surrounding areas. It would hort the local businesses to close the park.
AllTerrainRiders.com supports this fully!!! Everything in the N/E USA is going CONDO! Paragon is a hub and staple for the Off Roader in PA, NJ, NY and beyond!!
we easily drive 10 hours for the park and spend our money in the area, make a weekened of it, etc. if your gonna raise rates or do whatever - great, just dont close it please !!
Too PCA...
You should be ashamed of yourselves for trying to break an agreement on the lease...This type of action just goes to show how far your greed has gone...You are only thinking of yourselves and not even thinking of the lives that you will be impacking if PAP closes...You have to be aware of the millions of touist dollars that are brought into Hazelton every year...Hazelton wasn't much of anything until PAP put it on the map..Now it's 1 of the premium places to wheel in the Northeast...I have seen people from all over the country when i've been down there...I truely feel sorry that you would try to stoop this low just for the almighty dollar...What in God's name can you do with this old strip mine??...Most of this land is unusable..This is only good for you people because it's near your expressway..Can't you develope something else near there, and leave PAP alone??...Most of the people that i have met wheeling are great people to meet with..You break down on a trail, and they are willing to give up some of their spare part's, so you can get home..Better yet, they help you out with either their tools, or their knowledge on fixing what is broken...Another thing PCA..Have any of you been out on 1 of our rigs to wheel??...Probably not, or you wouldn't be doing what you are doing...I'll bet you go once , and you would get hooked on it like the rest of us are...Now atleast from my standpoint,we are not a bunch of Yahoo's that just go blasting down some trail to destroy everything in it's path..We have spent our hard earned money to build our rig's to test our limitations driving them..We don't go 90 miles an hour..Most of the time we are going less that 3 miles an hour...
PCA you are opening a can of worms doing what you are doing...There are very big sponsers that will put alotta pressure on you to cease in this action from you..You are damaging and
Please take the time to consider how this impacts the community. The community I refer to are the many people from all over a 5 state area who routinely make the trek to Paragon. The park that now lies on this land is a very unique place to enjoy driving a 4 wheel drive vehicle off road in a legal, safe, and environmentally responsible way. So often those that enjoy this hobby recieve unfair criticism for abusing the environment, yet when we find a way to do so responsibly, it's taken from us. Do not underestimate how numerous off road enthusiasts are. Some careful scrutiny, will demonstrate that our demographic is one of affluence and of larger scale than stereotypes would have you believe.
If Paragon is destroyed in the name of even more development, the impression that your company will leave on a large number of people from the entire region will be rather sour. Please allow Paragon to remain as it is.
