the lawsuit claims Paragon "damaged the land". I guess a 13,000-foot runway will be much friendlier on the land! It's all about politics and money for the Mayor Michael Marsicano and business partners Robert Powell and Gregory Zappala. Vote him out as well.
The offroading community will continue to spend money and support the destination areas/towns...to include local merchants. Please allow this park to remain in business.
Ive been traveling almost 2 hrs to paragon for 4 years now on a regular basis.I usually spend $100 in food and gas in the town every trip not including park admission.closing the park will hurt everyone.
As the owner of two Jeeps, I feel it's important to have a place where off-road enthusiasts can exercise their vehicles away from the urban jungle. Keep Paragon OPEN!
since when does enjoying the outdoors refer to anything other then nature? lets not cut all of it down for money, we have to keep some somewhere... keep this place alive!!
closing another lace for people to go and be friends and have faimly fun with is an insult to the american dream. please stop this insanity and let the money grubing politics of it all stay where it belongs!
Paragon Adventure Park is an amazing place for off-roaders of all levels. It would be tragic for this special place in the beautiful mountains of Pennsylvania because someone is looking to make some cash by selling the land.
Nothing brings a smile to my boyfriends and his friends faces like a trip to Paragon! And if they are any indication of other Paragon adventurists, then that park is filled with good, hard-working men and women who arn't afraid of getting their hands dirty. It would be a true shame to take away this wonderful source of enjoyment from them. All my best to the Paragon family and all of it's supporters!!!
Paragon Adventure Park has opened up a whole new off-road industry in Pennsylvania. By closing the park down, much of the four-wheeling/ATV industry in Hazelton and across the Commonwealth will dry up; not to mention the surrounding areas will lose a lot of cash-flow on which many people have come to rely on for their livelihood.
Several years ago when I first got into the sport, there were many places to ride, until the police starting shutting places down due to negative reports about what vandals were doing to private property. Around that same time, Kyle Knosp and his family had a vision of a place where off-roaders could ride LEGALLY. His vision came to fruition in Paragon Adventure Park. Paragon gave off-road enthusiats from all over the Mid-Atlantic region a place to call home.
If Paragon is closed down, I fear that many people will resort to riding on old logging trails, railroad right-of-ways, etc and tarnish an image that many of us have fought hard over the years to improve.
Is there no other place in Northeast PA that a cargo airport can be located? Why are local and state politicians willing to see one successful business suffer just to see another come take its place? Is there no way to make both a success? Why is Rep. Todd Eachus so against Paragon? Why has he not come to side with many of his constituents who have an interest in seeing Paragon survive and thrive?
I implore Rep. Eachus, the landowners and the Knosp family to find a way to allow both businesses to peacefully co-exist within the great Hazelton area!
It is rediculous for them to close a park where it is legal to ride offroad which brings in tourism revenue for the entire community. Environmental empact of a cargo airport is far worse than an offroad park. DON'T CLOSE PARAGON!!
This is absolutely rediculous. There are many other environmental issues that politicians need to work about. 4wheeling is the greatest way to explore what God gave us. I pray that paragon is saved
Legal places to ride atvs and to take a vehicle off road are becoming few and far. To put in this airport means cutting down acres and acres of forest,as well as chasing out the wild life and laying down blacktop, so when the airport fails and closes you are left with run down buildings and lots of blacktop. OH WHAT A PRETTY PICTURE.
