“-----seat NO candidate for Florida’s 13th
district without a revote”

Dear Congresswoman Pelosi,
Certainly the controversy over the election for the congressional seat in the 13th Florida district has caught your attention. We in Florida are again faced with a flawed voting result. There is substantial skepticism among many voters that the touch screens accurately recorded the votes in the contest between Vern Buchanan --- the Republican candidate --- and Christine Jennings --- the Democrat. While the vote identifies Mr. Buchanan the winner, there are reasons that should delay the House from seating Mr. Buchanan. Aside from the fact that the “recount” was just a revisit to the machines that gave us the count in the first place, and not voter verified paper ballots, there was a whopping 13% --- or 18,000 --- undervote in Sarasota County. The unusually large undervote occurred only in that race! To make that fact more relevant, the undervote in the absentee ballots for that same race was about 2%.

Ms. Pelosi, the electorate must stand up and say ENOUGH! Democrats and Republicans and Independents demand that every American’s vote be counted. If significant flaws exist, or malfeasance is present, the situation must be remedied. Unless the election in Florida’s 13th district is fairly decided, removing any doubts as to its validity, the people of this district --- and the people of America ---will have been ill served. The very foundation of this nation is the trust the people have in our institutions. If our votes don’t count, we are no better than the dictatorships of the world. The signators below --- members of all parties and no party --- ask that you lead the way to FAIR, SAFE, SECURE AND HONEST ELECTIONS.

Since it is within the powers of the Congress to seat its members, we ask the Congress to seat NO candidate for Florida’s 13th district without a re-vote!
