Those who made the determination that Carnivale would do better on a Sunday schedule should all be canned! Had you folks placed the show on Tuesday or Thursday evenings and kept it in one place throughout, the audience would have grown, the fans increased and the show would have never needed to be shut down.
I have never had HBO, so I can't cancel it, unfortunately. The problem with intelligent television programming is that it's (usually) only people that are intelligent and have attention spans that can cover an entire hour tune in. Carnivale was intelligent programming in that it had superb writing, amazing attention to detail, and a story gripping enough to retain its viewership simply because we want to know how the story happens--and how it ends, which I would love to find out.
"It's Not TV, It's HBO" What happened to that??? Carnivale is a great show and definitly fits the mold of a HBO original series. If people want reality shows all they need to do is watch local broadcast networks. Sorry reality TV really bites!!! Stick to your motto be HBO not TV like the rest of the crap out there!!!
I am so depressed and sick to my stomach that Carnivale has been canceled and we didnt even get a good reason why. I hate HBO. I will never watch that shitty channel ever again unless they change their minds.
I can't believe you are not going to renew another season. The show was great!!! I usually do not watch series style shows--but this was captivating---kept me coming back weekly. Whats wrong with you HBO?
Finally a show worth staying home to see & hbo is canceling it "shame on them " True all great shows die , but not before it's time Carnvale time is not up yet. We need to see & believe in more Carnivale.
Cancelled? How COULD they? Dear Lord, one of the few intelligent and gripping series on the air... which network will buy the tights and continue to produce this wonderful show, so that I can switch to THAT network instead of HBO...?
Carnivale is the first show that I have seen in a long time that actually made me think about what was going on in the movie. Other shows are so predictable, but not Carnivale. It is such an intelligent and well written series. What a big mistake taking off this unique masterpiece.
Please bring Carnivale back. The series was thought provoking to say the least. I can't believe HBO is giving Lisa "Phoebe" Kudrow a series! What a joke, she sucked as Phoebe, she bombed in Romy and Michelle, why even bother giving her a show - she sucks. There are so many fans of Carnivale, please make us happy and keep the show alive!
With all the junk on TV these days why would you cancel one of the best shows to come down the road in a long time. I can't believe that they pay people big money to make such udderly stupid, stupid decisions.
The world needs more brilliant shows like Carnivale, and it's a shame more people didn't recognize what a gem we had. There are lots of us needing well written, thought profoking shows like this. I brought several people into the Carnivale fandom, but maybe it was too late. I know it would take a Ben-like miracle to bring it back from the dead, but we're all still praying for one.
Nick Stahl has got to eat. Adrienne Barbeau could use some more botox. Clea Duvall will no longer be fuckable in my eyes if show is unable to hold a day job. Also, have you considered the outrage you are going to get from the Little People's Association. Those people are worse than a mob of wetbacks when the river isn't flowing.
Brilliantly written and concieved. I began watching Carnivale after just before the premiere of Season 2 and was instantly hooked. The world needs more well-written intelligent shows to offset the reality show deluge. Save Carnivale!!!!
Huge mistake, leaving the show in a cliffhanger status. With the success of "Carnival" and "Deadwood" HBO set itself apart from other programming. Please reconsider!!!
Please bring back Carnivale, It is not over yet, Alot more story ,that needs to be told..I loved that show.... Sundays will not be the same without Carnivale!!!!!
HBO should be proud to have Carnivale on their line-up. Quality entertainment is the exception to the rule. Carnivale was not just mindless dribble, the questions that it evoked did not just subside at the end of each episode. There is no place to go now.
I have cancelled my digital cable( the only reson I have it was for carnivale)
I will never re subscribe or subscribe to ant network that carries HBO unless carnivale is continued to it's conclusion.
Carnivale is the only show that could be watched twice in one night. Weird, wonderful, addicting tv. If it's not brought back, all I can say is what a shame HBO. Please reconsider. We'll forgive you.
Carnivale is deep, intense, intrigueing and addictive. If you axe carnivale, you stand to loose alot of subscribers (not to mention the $$$ that those subscribers bring to HBO). If Carnivale doesn't come back, count me and alot of other folks out as HBO subscribers.
Good job HBO! you just lost a ton of viewers and gave them to showtime, not only that you have gotten rid of the last good show on televison! I hope someone else picks it up and takes off with it!
The only problem i think HBO has: time slot. I mean, some people do not know that it actually airs late at night. What if, they moved it on an earlier spot. Sheesh.. i guess, it's too late for that. I still have my fingers crossed for this petition. 'ope they hear us.
Please bring the show back. It is the only reason why I have a tv appointment. I never had a TV appointment before, and I would like to have it again. Even though it means that i have to stay late, and miss the best sleep of the week - then, be it. I love this show so much that I would stay late for it. There's nothing like carnivale. Nothing like it. So, believe the viewers - WE WANT IT BACK.
When I heard Carnivale was cancelled, I was outraged. This is the GREATEST show I think I have ever watched. Im not much of a t.v. person these days, but the one show I DID watch was Carnivale. Save this show and give us our third season!
In the days of nothing but horrid so-called reality shows and poorly written sitcoms, Carnivale is a show that stands out with its creative writing and storylines. I would only consider subscribing to HBO for this show alone.
Why on earth would you cancel such a wonderfully creative show? It appears that everything truely special on HBO is ending this season (Sopranos, Six Feet Under). Dont take this away too!
Come on HBO; Carnivale has the potential to be your #1 series by far!!! I applauded your courage when you gave it a chance; and I will do so again when you order a third season! A truely wonderful program, superb photography, writing, acting, set decoration..please do not cut this wonderful show. As a disabled person I found that the protrayal of the Carnivale characters was the most sensitive and real of anything on television.
No Carnivāle...No HBO!!! This cancellation is a betrayal worthy of Sammy the Bull. Carnivāle is the only reason my household subscribed to HBO. Without Carnivāle we are cancelling our HBO subscription immediately, as are many other loyal subscribers. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL this brilliant show, after a mere 24 episodes, before its immense fan base can reveal itself.
At least show your subscribers the same courtesy that you are extending to Six Feet Under fans and run a third and final season, labeling it as so. Loyality like ours should not be taken for granted or go unnoticed!
Please save this show! It's the only show I tuned into every Sunday to watch, sometimes at 2am just so I know who did what and so forth! It's original!
Carnivale was so much more than a television series...incredible set and costume design, compelling story lines, wonderful actors and actresses, and a million cliff-hanging story lines eagerly awaiting a 3rd season. I am stunned by this decision....
