HBO, What are you thinking? This was one of your better shows and I can't believe you'd even consider cancelling with this kind of fan base. Please don't make me go back to the mindless television of reality shows. Keep Carnivale on for those of us who crave more!!!!
I'd love to see the series come back for another season. But at the very least, I hope HBO will consider doing a Carnivale movie or miniseries to wrap up all the story lines. I have no doubt there would be a large number of viewers tuned in.
What a shame! The quality, depth, imagination, originality, acting, script, etc. of this show brings it to a level of quality seen so seldom and, therefore, needs to be continued. Reconsider please!
Carnivale canceeld? The one intelligent, creative and unique show on television gone? HBO SHAME ON YOU!!! Where are the leaders in entertainment? I may have to cancel HBO since it lacks vision now.
we need to get Carnivale back. it was my favoire show.. and I'm only 16.. just imagine how many other people loved this show.. and youre going to take it away from them. not cool. Everyone has unanswered questions, and if we dont get the show back, we'll just keep asking. we'll ask you, and anyone else who has any pull with this show. just put it back on.
It would be amiss of HBO not to renew the 3RD season of Carnivale if just to ansewr the questions left from season 2. We can imagine but the future magic but a picture is worth a thousand words. We want to see Ben (good) arise and continue his saving of souls, WOWing the accomplishments of this human hero. We dare know Justin (evil) is alive and love to hate the prospect his devilish misdeeds will further disrupt many lives along the way. And what barriers will the dark side set up against Ben and how will the domino effect pertain to the Carnivale family as we are led to the final chapter? If only to bring closture to many of the loose ends only then can we rest in peace. We will always and forever want more Carnivale but perhapes compromise is the key HBO?
My sisters got me hooked on the show last season.Since I din't know what was going on I went and bought the 1st season..Pleas bring my favorite show back ...I cannot wait to buy season 2 on dvd and I pray I will be able to buy the 3rd one...please save my Carnivale!!!!!
HBO supposedly cancelled because of the lack of viewership growth between Season 1 and 2. But many, many of us only discovered Carnivale recently through DVD, etc. We ARE a growing fanbase!
I iControlled the first episode just to see what it was about and was hooked from the beginning. When my husband came home, I got him to watch it and then we did the second episode and so on every evening until we ran out and had to WAIT for the next new one on Sunday. Finally got the DVD set and watched it again. HBO is proud of all the acclaim that the show got and even mentions all the awards on their website. Some people just don't know how to deal with success.
my wife and I would plan our ENTIRE schedule around sunday nights for season 2. We don't even own cable but we'd rent a hotel room or go over to the other in laws to see it! This show deserves a decent burial... like twin peaks deserved but "TV" (ABC) was afriad to give fans closure. Look at them now... completely disfunctional. HBO isn't supposed to be like TV like the slogan goes.
When I first watched Carnivale I thought the show was a little odd. It was not like any show I ever saw. There were amazing characters, the story was immaculate, and when you watched it something always brought a little smile to your face. Wether is was the feeling of hope, watching Ben Hawkins, or the utter terror of Brother Justin. This show made you feel good to watch, and sooner or later more people will realize this. Please make it sooner.
I'm not a big T.V. person, and the little bit of T.V. I do catch, it's usually at random. But with Carnivale, I MADE SURE I set aside the time. I'd blow off plans to make sure I didn't miss an episode. I'm not really close with my family, and it was really the only time we would spend together during the week. The show was thought-provoking, intense, and original. It really kept you guessing from start to finish. I am very disappointed in HBO. Bceause now it IS just T.V.
I am sorry to see such an intelligent and beautiful show be cast aside. Perhaps if we band together we can work towards a 3rd season or pity special...any crumbs of closure HBO is wiling to throw our way. It is our house now! Devoted carnies: check out www.savecarnivale.org
My only reason for keeping HBO was for Carnivale. I can now cancel my HBO package. I don't see it worth the money anymore. You should have finsihed the show this season if you had no plan on keeping it going!!!!
I, along with a lot of your viewers feel very cheated! This show had a loyal following. To leave us high and dry with so many unanwered questions goes to show that in the end, you don't care about your viewers. I guess I should thank you. By getting rid of HBO my cable bill will finally be going down.
You guys promised your fans to finish this show...for once in so long, television was again about the statement, about the beauty of life, about intelligence and sophistication, about character development and scenery, setting, history, mythology, science, love, hate, destruction, etc. But now, it is once again about the money. And now what do you have? deadwood. Dont you realize that the fan-base would have picked up after all your other shows were over? morons. how could you. You were the most couragous execs in the business, but business crushed your courage. You have disappointed me and millions more, and you should feel disappointed in yourselves. BRing the damn thing back!
There should have been at least a season three of Carnivale. Who made the idiotic decision to shut it down? They should be out of a job right now. Please reconsider and bring this thought-provoking, high-quality show back for another run. I'm sure there are many more people who feel the same, but they do not frequent HBO's Carnivale message boards and therefore, aren't aware of this petition. Allow me to be their voice.
Carnivale was THE most unique and interesting show on TV. It was a prime example of thinking outside the box. Thanks HBO for leaving us with entourage and the rest of the crap you show each week. Lucky for you the average person doesn't mind paying for crap programming!
Oh, my gosh. Just heard the bad news of Carnivals cancelation. I used to look so forward to Sunday night. I even recorded it so I could watch it a 2nd time during the week. I feel like there was a death in my family. Shame on HBO.
1 more thing my hat is off to all of those who put the time and excelency into this show to make it seem like a special place in my mind that I some times go to and think about. Wondering what just one more eppisode would hold. I can only use one word to describe Carnivale! and that is BRILLIANCE! Please continue it in some way. If you write a book I will read it, if you make a movie I will buy it. Or if what I hope the most, put the series back up I will B there every watching second and wait all week to see each episode!
CARNIVALE! I love the series I watched from the day it began until it was sadley cancelled. Every Sunday evening I think about it and get mad cause I want more!! I went and bought the first series on DVD and when the 2nd comes out I will get that whole series as well. I some times sit down and watch the whole 1st series in one day over an over again! You guyz at HBO are amazing with your series. But this was the best. The most unbelievable and addictive!! PLEASE!!, GIMMIE MY CARNIVALE BACK!!!
My wife and I loved Sunday evenings watching Carnivale. We need the third(& fourth,...)season. This was the only reason I kept HBO when my cable bill went up in March. I guess they want me to save money.
Fellow Carnivale Fans,
I took your advise and wrote to HBO and complained about the cancellation of Carnivale...I loved it! HBO is making a huge mistake. They used the show for winning the multiple Emmy's and giving themselves a good name and then pulled the legs out from underneath the very foundation for which they won! If it wasn't for the viewers who supported them than they wouldn't have won in the first place.
When will big corporations start listening to the requests of there consumers?
Don't cancel this. It's bad enough I have to wait for over a year for new Sopranos or Six Feet Under. HBO is a subscription service--ratings should not drive decisions, loyalty to customers commited to watching your shows should be. It's not like you ever have good movies anymore.
Carnivale is one of the best shows ever to be on television, and it needs to stay on television! There was no conclusion whatsoever, and I feel like I was raped! Bring it back!
