this is an interesting and different show. please continue with this one of a kind project. I mean come on . . .I thought hbo was all about cutting edge!
Why good things do not last long. HBO, please continue with this show. It's strong storylines and outstanding acting by the shows actors are something rare to find. Please bring the show back.
Please do not stop making Carnivale. It is a wonderful, intriguing show which shoes life in the 20s. Love that period of time as it shos how innocent and simple life was with a mystery in the air. Time at that period was classy and cool. It shows the best in every one of us has to offer during the hard times.
This really is a very good show and for a while offered light at the end of the dark reality ridden TV tunnel. I hope there are enough discerning fans who are prepared to spend a few minutes jotting a note down on any petition they can find. My partner and I were full of disbelief that it could be cancelled when it is in full swing - not at such an inconclusive point. The number of responses to this petition gives me faith that the world has many humans who were prepared to actively follow and care about a unique, well-crafted tale. Common HBO, give it another chance. If it's a matter of raising capital, then just put together a fund. There has to be a way to keep this show alive. Why don't the people at HBO think a little bit creatively about this rather than just end it. Give fans the ability to petition a show, donate to it's continuance if neccessary.
The first season of Carnivale is being shown on public television in the Netherlands at the moment. Hopefully HBO will make a lot of money selling the show and will change it's mind. I would love to see a third season.
One of the best shows of all time. Great characters, story, and overall style. I own the first season, can't wait to purchase season 2 and was so looking forward for Season 3. HBO, you must reverse your decision or face carnie justice.
Carnivale is innovative, thought-provoking, creative and highly underrated, as is evidenced by HBO's neglect to sign on for a third season. How disappointing, when most fans rely on HBO for being the one network that actually advocates quality programming. What a shame.
This was the only show I ever dropped everything, stopped everything and stayed home to watch on Sunday nights - not even the Monday re-run! I was GLUED to the TV on Sunday nights. HBO, you are now a waste of my time.
i cant believe HBO cancelled Carnivale! it was the best show i have seen in years! it's the reason i subscribe to HBO! PLEASE bring back Carnivale!!!!!
Carnivale made me care about its' charactors. The cast and sets are so authentic and well done, the story is engrossing and exciting. This is a splendid example of risk- taking and is unequaled elsewhere on TV. HBO please at least bring the story to a satisfying conclusion.
To you fellow petioners please check your spelling and grammer.
This is outrageous! For HBO to cancel a show that was so entertaining, differnet and new is pitiful. I am like a lot of viewers and keep HBO to look forward to shows like Carnival. There are too many questions left unanswered by the season finale. I can guarantee this man will NOT be watching HBO on Sundays at 9pm unless it is The Sopranos or Carnival. PLEASE BRING IT BACK! If just for a 3rd season...or "mini" season. PLEASE!!!
Shame on HBO!! The least you could do is bring the show back for a "mini-season" like you did for SATC!!!! HBO can make up a new series with a million dollar budget but can't finish off the projects it had working. They claim to have "finished" the show but there are way tooooooo many loose ends that have left Carnies fans at a loss. BRING BACK THIS SHOW & FINISH IT PROPERLY!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!
The only reason I kept my HBO subcription was Carnivale. I was so proud of HBO for taking the chance on this show and as equally dissapointed that they cancelled it before it was able to reach it's full potential. If Buffy the Vampire had been cancelled after it's second season I am positive it would not have gone on to sell as much merchandise as it has along with all the Buffy conventions that still happen. Carnivale was one of those rare shows that may not appeal to the large brainless masses but it does appeal to a large niche segment that has proven in the past to spend a lot of money on all merchandise it spins off. Shows in this niche market have proven that they only gain a bigger audience with time. I hope HBO reconsiders and allows the time needed for Carnivale to realize it's full potential.
Please save carnivale. One of the most entertain ing and brilliant show for people with open minds. Canaelling carnivale will be a momentous mistake. KEEP CARNIVALE ALIVE
me and my roommate and my friends all loved carnivale and i think that it is a shame that they are going to take it off, after they left all of its fans waiting to find out what was going to happen with ben and alexi
Well finally a show that make me wonder and think and doubt what is around the corner in the next series. HBO's Deadwood is great but a Carnivale always makes the crowd happy, reconsider your options make the final series to close all those loose ends.
One of the best TV Dramas of all time. This show is why I subscribed to HBO. In the era of reality drudgery designed for the masses this show returns to television its dignity and intelligence. It is rediculous and undignified to end it this way.
HBO needs to realize something about this show. This is the type of show that will build a cult following as time goes by. It may not have the biggest ratings now, but the long term profits as word of mouth spreads will be huge (see Family Guy). Unlike the Family Guy, however, all long term interest will be lost due to the lack of a conclusion.
Thanks for making me realize how worthless my HBO subscription is. It said "season finale" thanks for lieing to all the fans. Shame on you HBO!
I cannot believe, how will we know what happens? How can they do that??? THey wouldn't have done that to their precious Sex in the City, Maybe if they would have put in their spot, instead of playing reruns, it would have done better! I will not suscribe to HBO Again, without Carnivale
I just found out that Carnivale is not being renewed for a third season and I am extremely disappointed. I have watched the show since its pilot and will now cancel my HBO subscription in it's absence.
We loved it at our house. It was like date nite with my husband and I curled up on the sofa loving every mile down the road with this unique band of charactors. Please bring it back!!
I love Carnivale. I have loved it ever since I saw the pilot on HBO by accident while channel surfing that fateful day years ago. I have loved it ever since. There really hasn't been TV like this. It is so unique and such a sigh of relief in a sea of hodgepodge and dumbed down shows. HBO has never failed me before in showing me that there is such a thing as good TV series that can exist in our day and time. However, the cancelation of HBO so sudden and so off-balance... it makes me sad and I feel that HBO has failed me. Carnivale had real characters who had real relationships. They took an epic, fanciful, supernatural, fantastic story and made it personal. They had two separate casts of characters, each of them having a chance at the spotlight of the show. The pacing of the show was slow, but it was perfect for the drama. I would have liked the show to be on for years. It was a show that pushed the envelope and gave us something that TV has forgotten to give us for so long. I have already cancelled HBO, and I respect that everyone involved, including the HBO execs, did their best to keep the show... but still the show is lost. I was there sending letters when we weren't even sure that the show was going to get a SECOND season. I was there when the HBO chat room crashed after the season one finale, lucky enough to get one of my questions in there and answered by Nick and Clancy, even though I wasn't able to see it answered (I found them later from the logs of the chat days after). I have tried to hold Carnivale showings with my friends and turn on people to the shows as much as I can. I am happy to be a Carnivale Fan along with everyone else on this board. I'm not angry that HBO cancelled it, not at HBO personally anyway, but I will retaliate and I will sign this petition. I will make my voice heard in rally for one of the best, unique, and brave shows I've seen in such a very long time.
Carnivale was one of the very few intelligent shows left on television. It was one of the only reasons I watched TV at all, let alone HBO. Please, bring back intelligent tv.
It is sad to see shows like entourage and the lisa kudrick show replacing Carnivale and Six Feet Under. Once Sopranos goes, I fully intend to cancel HBO, and head over to ShowTime or TMC, or DVD rentals for my kicks. Advertising these shows could have helped significantly. If Lost can be a huge sucess, Carnivale should do wonderfully.
The intelligence and presentation of this series have made me an addict! I would rather see another series of Carnivale than any other series. I believe that this series is a snowball that will eventually avalanche. I enjoyed the epic storyline and all of the elements of the production. This program is certainly not shallow and may not get the short term ratings that other series have, but this series is certainly a "cult classic". Although this program may not reach a wide fan fan base, I believe it reaches a distinct demographic and actually inspires some thought. I felt that the character development was tremendous and the plot was enthralling. I do enjoy the Sopranos and Curb Your Enthusiasm and I did enjoy Band of Brothers, but to me Carnivale is like reading literature which I don't believe is available anywhere else on television. I will miss this epic show which is like no other. Bring it Back!
My girlfriend would email me about CARNIVALE! I need for you to please bring it back at least to make it right for Ben! It's not nice to do her that way and all of Carnivale faithful fans!
Carnivale, like Twin Peaks, is popular within a certain crowd, while that crowd may not have as much pull in the ratings as say Sex in the City, that doesn't mean that our money is less green, or that our opinions mean less. Sure, HBO may lose a penny or two on ratings, but that is nothing in comparison to what they'll lose after teasing us with 2 out of 3 seasons of one of the greatest fantasies ever.
This is one of the best reasons to have HBO. Sunday night was a great thing with Carnivale and then Deadwood. Please bring back this show for one final season! You can't leave us hanging like this!!!
