HBO claims to have all these great shows, but that doesn't mean anything when they cancel them. Just because Carnivale isn't all sex, violence, or crude humor, because it actually makes the viewers think about morals and choices, doesn't mean it should be gotten rid of. We've seen a lot of poor executive decisions recently; this one ranks high in the entertainment industry.
Poor decision making, HBO! Cancelling one of the most innovative shows in years - especially without any closure to the story - is absurd. Bring it back!
the fact that they had this huge twist at the end of the second season...KNOWING they didnt know whether it would come back is just UNBELEIVABLE!!! its one of my absolute favorite shows, and i loved that i thought they were going for a 3rd season. But no, they betrayed us. UGH BRING IT BACK!!! The actors, the story, the set, EVERYTHING!!!
There's no reason to keep HBO any longer. HBO has lost my trust -- I thought it was the one place for creative, daring, intelligent TV. Carnivale had excellent acting, dialog, scenery, costumes, and the story was gripping. I'm sad to see it go, especially when the story is not nearly finished. I hope another network picks it up.
not since the omen 1 and x-files has a show been this original and creative leave it to money whores to ruin one of the greatest casting feats ever. i will cancel my account cause in the end money is all they understand!!
HBO you suck. I was actually gonna purchase HBO instead of download episodes from online but now that isn't gonna happen. Bring Back Carnivale. Let us know the rest of the story. Dick Teases.
oh carnivale!
nothing rhymes with you.
But you are a damn good programme - and there is no longer anything on TV. esp since i live in South Africa. alas.
We know there's more to this story than we've gotten to see. Come on, HBO - you can spend 112 million on Rome and you can't spare a measley 10 mil for Carnivale (which has won Emmys for you too, remember)?
When everything on tv was simply boring, carnivale was the shinning light at the end of the dark tunnel ...now that light is gone, and I am forever left in the dark.
Out of all the movie channels, we got HBO because we wanted to see Carnivale. If a whole other season to tie up the many loose ends is just out of a question...how about just a movie or something. Leaving with it with no explanations is just cruel and unusual. Please give us something.
hbo has just finished 6 feet under and now no more carnivale. ...... so they can afford to pay for rome, which we all know brutus is gonna stab ceasar in the back..... much like hbo has done to us dedicated fans
Cant believe HBO have cabncelled this gripping series, its absolutley amazing and the 2nd season has just started here in the UK. PLEASE save this great show and allow the writers to finish their dream...from ALL UK fans of the show.
Carnivale...the only reason I subscribed to HBO. It's cancellation...the reason I will be unsubscribing. Guess this show wasn't trashy enough to gain a huge fan base and generate a lot of income like Sex In The City which is now so overdone it's become pathetic. You keep on the crappy shows and cancel the ones that make you think and keep you enthralled. What were you people thinking?
I actually went out and purchased a new HD Television just for the purpose of watching the new season of Carnival. Not knowing the show was canceled and replaced with the horrible show Rome (And I mean horrible). HBO, you dissapoint me and you should pay the bill for my new HD television. I will just cancel my HBO instead. Goodbye.
Carnival was the only reason I purchased HBO. Now I will cancel and many of my freinds will also. Perhaps the execs. at HBO underistimated the shows popularity.
This was the best show I have ever seen, and HBO cheated me and attempted to replace it with a show that's only an excuse to show tits and ass. Personally, I'd rather watch the cooch in Carnivale.
Ha, "Rome"
& "Entourage" .Maybe HBO can survive on the rating from those shows alone. If I wanted to imagine Rome I would pick up a damn history book, and I really could give a good butt about Seeing Jeremy Pivin in a suit. However "Carnivale", being original and well written to say the least, gets cancelled. Go figure!
Carnivale and Six Feet Under are the only reasons I have kept HBO as long as I have. With both of them gone, I have no reason to watch HBO anymore. I don't know how Carolyn Strauss can say that "the two seasons [they] had on the air told the story very well." The end of Season 2 left us with more unanswered questions - questions I was eager to see answered in Season 3. What a shame that the most imaginative and well-written show that HBO has ever had is cancelled, yet Entourage will be back for a third season! WHO makes these decisions?
HBO didn't do much to promote this show.We never watched it until 1/2 way through the 2nd season because we thought it was a show about the "Carnivale" in Rio! After stumbling onto the show one night while surfing we were pleasantly surprised that it was not what we thought it was and immediately became stuck on it! Sadly it was cancelled a few short months later....Cancelling this show is just plain STUPID, fire your promoters instead!
Please please PLEASE bring Carnivale back - I was clinging to my couch as I watched the last episode and I can't believe such a well-written series would be cancelled!
HBO claims that it was 4 million per episode to keep it running, but somehow Rome is cheaper??? It's crap and no one is bothering to watch it. There are so many crappy shows out there that don't deserve a spot but yet carnivale, a show that slowly caught the interest of every age group has been pulled even though it won so many awards during the emmy's?? That's bull!!!
often so called "great shows" drag on too long.Carnivale on the other hand was not given a chance. At least tie up the ends and don't leave fans hanging- HBO you're better than that.
I dare one of you HBO suits to actually sit down and read what actual FANS have to say about this show. People WILL catch on. It is impossible to ignore flawless writing and acting in virtually every element. In the long-run, this show will make you a tremendous amount of money.
not only is this series thought provoking, but it's also just fun to watch. My roomates and I bought the dvd's and watched the entire first season together in a day cause we just coulodn't stop watchin it. Keep it, please, we'll watch it more and buy the dvd's
That show was incredible. I was glued to it all season and even bought the first season. I dont even see a reason to continue my HBO service if the show doesn't return.
Carnivale is (was) the smartest, most complex and beautifully stunning show on television.. oh sorry, "It's not TV. It's HBO", or even a freakin movie franchise than anything I've ever seen. It's means HBO has the programing sense of FOX, NBC or any other television network that it claims to be higher than. F-HBO!
It has been a very long time since I have found a show that I find as interesting as this. I can't talk to anyone about it without going into full detail. How can you dump a winner?
Carnival was unique. Your viewers are tired of watching the same old story lines done over and over. Please bring it back! Rome?? Palease! It's been done! (a zillion times)
When 6 Ft Under went on hiatus, I wasnt sure if I could get through the weeks-then along came Carnivale'-WOW!! I loved that show and I want it back to finish out the episodes!!! Not happy about Rome....
