HBO is renowned for its top quality programming such as Sex in the city, Deadwood, Oz, The Sopranos and most recently Rome. I realize that finding a perfect fit for a network is sometimes hit or miss. However with all of the low quality shows I've recently seen poping up on HBO, I find it appalling that a better quality program with a higher class of acting talent such as Carnivale would be taken off the air. My family and I have been loyal subscribers of HBO since we first were afforded the opportunity to subscribe in the mid 80's. In light of these recent occurances, I am forced to rethink the quality and thought I've always felt went in to HBO's seasonal line-ups.
I sicerely hope that we will soon see a new season of Carnivale sometime soon.
Sincerely,
Chris
Carnivale was an orignal show and had a great story. If HBO dosnet pick it back up maybe some smart company will buy it outright and bring it back alive!
HBO wake uo, how many shows actually show support when it gets canceled. I dont see any petitions for 8simple rules, my wife and kids or head cases. We want carnivale and we are the customers, remember customers are always right
I really enjoyed the uniquness and difference of Carnivale compared to other shows...I always count on HBO to bring develop great programs and to stop this series is crazy...
What a sad thing. HBO has made a huge mistake dropping Carnivale the series. It was unique, suspenseful, well written, well acted, and for what? The Comeback with Lisa Kudrow? Enterage? Huge mistake, there goes my HBO subscription.
I can't say that I'm suprised to hear Carnivale has been cancelled. Can they not get anybody to produce it as a DVD release??? I would pay good money buy a third season.
At the very LEAST you could FINISH the show. Tie up lose ends and then cacel it. HBO programming used to be so good, but there is nothing now. Horrible.
Sofistication is something that most media outlets are missing. Their market is the masses.(Check all of the bad commercials and series on TV)Sooo...HBO being the beaurcracy it is, the media being what it is,and the arrogance of both being what they are, don't expect any reversal of an HBO policy. How can people of so little character be anything but nonresponsive.Media execuatives always know what's best for "those people". Viewers have seen this for years from the ellitest liberal media.Treat the masses like mushrooms...feed them shit and keep them in the dark...Carnivale; too good, too much insight, too much contemplation, therefore; no good for the masses.HBO execs have decided, now be good little children, don't make too much fuss,HBO knows whats good for you.
This was the greatest show I've ever seen. Extrordinarily creative, beautiful, intelligent. It was a huge mistake to cancel it. Give it a chance to build an audience!
Business aside this show is a piece of art. Unlike the mindless dribble currently infecting the medium of television. Anything that challenges the general lethargy is going to require time for people to wake up. This show should be funded on principle however I think there would most definitely be a financial reward for having a hint of foresight
For the love of all that is good in the world, bring Carnivale back. Rome isn't even good enough to suck a donkey off. Six Feet Under was just this side of passable this season, and honestly, I really don't care about the Sopranos. Deadwood's is all that's left to look forward to. Seriously, Entourage and the Polly Watseractress show are jokes, big fat unfunny ones.
Carnivale, may we be so lucky as to see it revisited as a movie, as a serises again some years down the road, anything. Bring 'er back, she was a good old girl.
We are now at the end of septembre and I am still not over the cancelation of Carnivale. I am boycotting HBO's show since. And will continue to do so untill Carnival is back. By the way, why should a viewer get interested in a HBO series when past experience has shown that it can be canceled anytime ?
Wonderful show. HBO Please give this show a resurection. One of the finest shows on Television. Pay attention to your gold, and fans will support you. Carnivale was apart of your gold, and long list of unique programing. SAVE CARNIVALE!!
I admittedly didn't watch the series when it aired, but if it gets picked up again, I would have EVERYONE I know watch it. It's a fabulous show and it's a pity that a quality series isn't considered good enough to renew because of numbers that they deem unworthy. HBO should realize that viewers want to see a good series rather than another viewing of Men in Black. Believe me, all of us die-hards can convert the nonbelievers easily because of how good this show is. Frankly, I just got hooked less than a month ago because a friend of a friend hooked all of us on it. With the success of their new dramas, maybe HBO will wise up. Or maybe another network will pick it up . . .
What! I feel like I have been cheated...I only kept HBO after 6ftunder for Carnivale; now I find out it is cancelled.! GGGGRRRRR Come On! Don't leave us hanging...we pay extra money to watch this network! I only keep it for the series; but you give us Entourage and the comeback and take away the most unique, intense, and BEST show? What is the logic?
It's not fair. I finally found a show I'm actually addicted to, and it gets yanked off the air. I'm cancelling my subscribtion to HBO if I don't see results come out of the fans retaliations.
You have to be joking... I have been checking periodically for the start of Season 3... ONE of ONLY THREE SHOW I watched religiously on a weekly basis!
Don't let such a GREAT show die!!!
Cancelling CARNIVALE only goes to show how little HBO knows that money makes the world go 'round. And what viewers will do for CARNIVALE! Please bring the show back. There is a bigger audience out there then you realize!!!
Being in the uk, season 2 only just started here 2 weeks ago. I can't believe that hbo have decided to cancel this most original of shows. I am also watching Lost at the moment, and it doesn't even begin to compare. Bring back Carnivale!
Is this what HBO does to its viewers? We have to wait 2 years for the Sopranos and now this??? I LOVE cARNIVALE and I just can not believe you would do this to us. At least come back and tie things up on the storyline. I pay an extra $35 a month to have hbo just for Carnivale and the Sopranos.
HBO please bring back Carnivale, its a good show and I can see so many ways you can take the characters plus bring new characters into the picture. We continue to support all your programming, continue to support your show's fans.
It is very disappointing to learn that hbo has chosen not to renew Carnivale. Please, perhaps another network could accomplish this task. I add my voice to the thousands wanting this intriguing series to continue, not leaving us feeling disappointed and unfulfilled.
Having only just finished season1 in Holland, we're waiting anxiously for s2... Shame to hear/read that the series has been killed off completely after s2. Guess it's impossible to have quality on tv these days.. Break the pattern, HBO, and keep the great series Carnivale going, please.
How unfortunate that one of the best written, highest quality television shows ever has been cancelled. I find it hard to believe that no one was watching this show. I have several friends who, like me, were addicted to this beautiful, well-crafted piece of art. It was never given a fair chance and wasn't hyped the way other executive favorites were. Please bring this show back for a third season! There is a bigger audience out there then you realize!
I am so dissapointed that the only show i have been addicted to has been cancelled. It was a beautiful show. Enjoyable on many different levels. such a pity.
This show is the only reason that I even subscribe to HBO anymore. This show is still gaining popularity. My friends and I used to have a Carnivale party every Sunday night just to keep up on it. If they don't bring back Carnivale, I'll most likely end up canceling my HBO subscription.
Magic, sex, religion, snapshots of America at it's worst...just like today! I love the show, it's actors and writers, they make an ethereal concept real.
I understand that money makes the world go 'round. However, cancelling the show without changing time slots, announcements, etc. is crazy. "Seinfeld" is only one, to name a few, where the time slot was changed and BOOM, it was one of the biggest hits on "Prime Time" tv.
Give it a chance, change it around and bring it back, or possibly, have the creators of Carnivale sell the story to another network. ##!# HBO. I too do not need it anymore.
Let's keep the Carnivale on the road to us viewers.
A little "tweeke" of the programing and it will be like another "Seinfeld."
(With a different view, of course)
Cancelling this show only goes to show how little hbo knows about doing what it takes to keep viewers. HBO is also very bad with shows taking too long till the next season. It seems like forever waiting for the next season for these shows.
I have been hooked on Carnivale since the very first episode. To have it end like it did is unbelieveable, there is so much more to the story line that we haven't even been shown, so many things that need to be answered. I have never been addicted like this before to any other show. Why would HBO make such a bad decision to end one of HBO's greatest shows? I am very dissapointed with HBO.
