I cannot believe HBO is ending a show that won 5 out of 7 emmy awards! There must be something they aren't telling us, cause this makes no sense. Bring back Carnivale!!!!
Why would you cancel such a good show? Besides, its better than Angels in America (whatever the true plot of that story was!). Keep Carnivale, it's a much better show.
How can you cancel a show that is this good. If you are going to cancel it, at least make a follow up movie to finsh the story. The story is now where near being complete.
Carnivale is a creative and enjoyable show. The story is not over. It is a shame to let it die prematurely. I for one subscribed to HBO solely for Carnivale. While I enjoyed other shows such as Deadwood. I will no longer subscribe if Carnivale is not renewed.
A truly engrossing show. With Sex in the City gone and Sopranos and Six Feet Under fading away, I have little reason to pay for HBO. Losing Carnivale closes the deal.
Yeah HBO has people talking around the water cooler. About how stupid they are to cancel a great show!
Let the story be told. Carnivale is a great show and the story hasn't been finished. Why cancel a great show that has won so many awards. I think the HBO execs are smoking crack or something. Cancel Da Ali G show, Unscripted, Curb your Enthusiasim. Don't even bother with The Comeback "Looks Stupid" :Carnivale, Sopranos, Deadwood, 6 Feet Under, OZ, and yes even Sex In The City are or were good series. They at least wrapped up Sex In The City with a 1/2 decent series ending. Oz they kinda left hanging but it had a good run and a story had been told. Don't really care for the Wire end that if they need money. Six feet under is even starting to get a little old. But only Carnivale had me wishing it was next Sunday already when it was over.
Qoute from HBO person below:
"As Carolyn Strauss said, "We have decided not to renew Carnivale. We feel the two seasons we had on the air told the story very well and we're proud of what everyone associated with the show has accomplished."
In all my years, I've never stumbled upon a program that has renewed my desire to live! That is, of course, until Carnivale came around.
Carnivale hasn't been out of my mind a single day since the start of second season! Truly inspiring - a masterpiece - that is threatening to be lost forever! - and at what cost? Livelihoods are at stake, here, people - please don't cut this hypnotic series short!
In a vast ocean of shit programs, Carnivale was the lighthouse guiding to something profound. I thought "it's not tv, it's HBO", so why are they falling back into line by sticking with mindless crap!
Honestly it's the only show that I remember more then a bowel movement. Ya see what I'm getting at? All other shows are shit! Can you say another "Family Guy" situation? It was before it's time!
this is a great show that left us in suspense. why would hbo take off a show that was getting great ratings. you guys are already taking off six feet under. hbo you guys are taking off all the great shows you started out with and are putting stupid ones on.
The only reason I watched HBO is when Carnivale was on. I guess I no longer need HBO. My boyfriend got me addicted for you all to let me down. Thanks for nothing!!!
I had my boyfriend rent the entire 1st Season just so he could get caught up - and then you CANCEL IT?! Looks like we'll be cancelling our HBO membership.
Is it too much to ask that the story be completed? That questions in the storyline be answered? It's a quality program. The acting is impeccable, the production values are incredible and the story itself is intriguing. DON'T LEAVE A DEDICATED FAN BASE HANGING!
I can't believe the show has been cancelled with so many unanswered questions. get rid of the Sopranos if you need to save money...at least the cast of Carnivale WANT to work....
Carnivale is one on my favorite shows of all time. I was totally in love with LOST this year until Carnivale came along and kicked it out of top place! Seriously, this show MUST go on!
I don't think HBO is being fair. They show run the show one more season and end it right. Who the hell ends a show on a cliffhanger? That's just stupid. I am a huge fan, I've watch every episode at least 4 times and it amazes me everytime. There is a lot of wonder and mystery in this show. You have to save it. Let DK end it right.
What do you mean the story has been told satisfactorily? If the story is that evil wins, just kill off Ben, and THEN end the show. No okay to end it on a cliffhanger. Just END the stupid thing properly if it doesn't make enough for you. Yes, I am hostile.
This show is captivating I have been a fan since the first show it is hard to believe they would keep a trash show like Deadwood over Carnivale - reconsider
This is such a good show! Don't cancel it! At least give us a few more episodes to finish the story. It must be good or NBC wouldn't have run their own lame imitation of it!
We had high hopes that because Carnivale was on HBO, they would keep this quality show on till the full story was told. Please bring it back!!! Don't leave us all with SO MANY unanswered questions!!!
HBO don't let us down!!! You have the best shows on tv and Carnivale needs to continue!! I guarantee you that the ratings will improve significantly next year!! C'mon give it one more year!!!
All too rarely, a show of this caliber comes along, and that HBO considers it finished after the spell-binding cliff-hanger that should have been the SEASON finale and not the SERIES finale is simply incomprehesible. Bring back Carnivale!
We need Carnivale back. It was so nice to have a completely unique show to watch on TV and not just some reality garbage. HBO lefts us all hanging. The story is nowhere near complete!
Carnivale was far and away the most unique and fascinating show on television and the ONE AND ONLY reason I subscribed to HBO...no Carnivale...no money from my pocket or my family or friends pockets will go into HBO's coffers ever again!
Bring it back! Season 2 did not, as the HBO exec put it, "tell the story very well." Season 2 was ended on an open note with many issues to sort out, many story lines left unfinished, and clearly set up for season 3. Why would such a powerful network cancel a show that won it 5 emmys last year? If it's budgetary, ditch the Ali G show instead...that is so not funny.
This show was like a breath of fresh air when I first saw it. The most original and thought provoking show on TV. I purchased the first season on DVD and watched faithfully when the second season went on the air. At the end of the second season I thought to myself at least I have at least one more season to look forward to and now I am completely left with no resolution to any of the questions raised by this wonderful show. Please please please bring back the show if only for one more season just so I can show this wonderful creation to my children someday and say "see this, it proves that good things can be on TV not just mindless and uninspiring cookie cutter programs" Take the chance and try to appeal to the people that get this kind of programming and welcome the idea that TV can actually make people think while they watch.
The best show on TV! Look forward to HBO series on Sundays main reason I even subscribe to TV. I love this show and have gotten several friends watching it and they love it and have subscribed to HBO as well. Where does HBO get the idea ratings weren't good? No body ever asks me what TV shows I watch! Maybe if they hadn't made people wait so long for the 2nd season and put it on in the summer instead of winter ratings may have been different. It's nice to have a show that will make your mind think in these days of all the reality crud on TV. I love Deadwood too but I will cancel HBO & MAX if Carnivale doesn't return. I'm sure HBO will have other great series but why waste my time if they may cancel another good one. They need to at least finish the story and not leave it hanging like they did. I work for 2 large satellite companies in Houston and over 12 years or so always recommended HBO & MAX to customers that wanted to now the best movie channels. They can say bye to a great referal.
