Why does HBO continue to produce such wonderful shows, yet they either arbirtrarily cancel shows when it is clear the show has a loyal following? Or in the case of the Soprano's one has to wait more than on year for the next season and it's like, Sopranos who? Is HBO nuts? They have what every other network dreams of having: loyal fans of very well-written shows and yet they seem to take it for granted. Wake up HBO!
An incredible show, insightful, entertaining, relevant, intelligent, startlingly beautiful. I would love to see the characters come into their own more and watch the real fun begin. It was just getting started! Please bring the show back!
Well this is quite a debacle you've got on your hands. FIX IT!!! Even before any formal anouncement of cancellation there's this much activity of petitions, save carnivale websites, grass roots campaigns, etc. Everyone makes mistakes, just FIX IT!!! Bring back Carnivale!!! How can you expect your subscribers to invest in any future HBO series (like Rome - that one looks expensive, too!) knowing that you might pull the plug when the story is only one third finished? Carnivale was groundbreaking, original, appointment tv that found fans despite poor marketing and scheduling. The fan base would really take off with season three, and grow even larger with the concluding three seasons. Regain some credibility and bring this briliantly written, acted, photographed series back for its true 'natural conclusion.'
You just can't leave us hanging like this!!! Only show in my life I've found to really mess with your mind... in a GOOD way. Don't take away a show of such quality... :(
please bring back carnivale... it is the only reason i got hbo... i just love the show and i need to know what will happen next... please please bring it back... thank you so much
Carnivale is the best show on television. I cant believe such an amazing show would be can cut off while Deadwood gets another season. Please bring back carnivale.
Carnivale is or was one of the most interesting shows on cable. I thought this wasn't T.V. (pretty people on fake reality shows). Its HBO something different with real life grit.
I watched most of your series - The Sopranos, Sex & the City, Oz, Six Feet Under, The Wire - but Carnivale was head and shoulders above all of them. Bring back the show.
Carnivale is an excellent show -- both from a plot & from a visual standpoint. It is a shame that HBO would cancel a series when it's still just in it beginning stages. HBO is making a big mistake, as I don't feel the channel has anything else to offer me.
Carnivale is one of the best and most original series that has been on tv in ages. HBO thinks it came to a prpoer close, but they left us on a cliffhanger. Don't do this to such an outstanding series!!!
This was my favorite show and I am sad to hear that it has come to an end please renew for at least one more season or have a series finally to put all our questions to rest.
I thought the folks at HBO were different from the "media whores" at the networks - will do anything just as long as there is money in it. But, alas, I seem to be wrong. Looks like everyone can be bought, even the folks who seemed to have more intelligence and vision that the average t.v. execs. Shame on you, HBO.
You put this show up against the Desparate Housewives hype and did such a poor job of promoting it, no wonder the ratings were not as impressive as they should have been. The cast is exceptional and the writing was without an equal. Instead of Carnivale, I'm supposed to spend my money on a series like Entourage?? PLEASE! Show the dedication to quality that got you were you are in the first place and bring back Carnivale
How sad that this award-winning show didn't receive the promotion and time slot it deserved, thereby not picking up the audience share it might have had during its second season. When shows like Medium and Revelations grab large shares on the networks, it is apparent that the audience for Carnivale is out there. HBO should consider at least several made-for-television films to give Carnivale fans the closure to the cliff-hanger ending which they deserve and crave.
I think HBO adminstrators need to head out on a Carnivale of their own and get management who works for the people (viewers) by the people(viewers). Biggest mistake was canceling Carnivale. I am now a Showtime customer. When Carnivale is renewed..I'll be back....
I JUST found out about the cancellation, after I go in to see when the new season would be starting of course. Seems I never hear about these things until almost too late. This is an outrage, yet another brilliant show cancelled due to what? Slow ratings? Who knows. Do you know how many people I recruited to watching Carnivale? Some even (stupidly) bought the highly priced first season on DVD and were waiting on the second. I am in agreement with all who stated they would be cancelling HBO. I will honestly have no reason to continue to be a subscriber. I love Deadwood and Six Feet Under as well. SFU only has one season left and you'll probably cancel Deadwood as well, as that seems to be your way as of late. Why bother investing my loyalty. Thanks alot HBO, for nothing. (I'm sorry, do I sound bitter???? Good!)
Carnivale is the first show I watched multiple times a week.I can't belive it was cancelled after the cliff hanger season finale! Please at least give me closure!!
I can't even begin to believe what HBO has done. This was the first show that I honestly would plan my entire week around - WE LOVED IT, and knew many other people who did as well.
Carnivale was a great show!! I cannot believe they are thinking about not finishing what they have started. If the plan was to cancel--the season should have ended differently. Shame on HBO for hooking up into a show and then leaving us hanging.
I'm stunned that they cancelled this show! I'm sure if money is an issue they should have plenty left over from The Sopranos to renew it. Please don't leave it like this!
Whoever made the executive decison to cancel Carivale should clearly be fired. I'll cancel HBO. You can't have just 2 seasons of an original show like that. It's the best show since Sex and the City!!
This is the only show my family actually agreed on liking and we all watched it! thats pretty amazing considering that we are all very different people. my daugther got me hooked on it, shes got her friends into it to!
Please, you cannot cancel this thinking man's "Left Behind." This show has significant theological undertones and it is one of the best shows on HBO. It also speaks a symbolic language about humankind, good and evil, and reflects the current ideological battles being waged between secularist, mainline Christians, and the evangelical right. As a piece of early 21st century culture, it is too valuable to end, and I disagree, much more of this story can and needs to be told. Thanks you.
i seriously got teary eyed when i heard this was cancelled. there were honestly between 10 and 15 people gathered in front of the tv every sunday night to watch carnivale. it was the most awe inspiring television show i have ever seen. it was unfair to its fan base to end the show with so much left unanswered.
Carnivale sold wonder and magic. 99% of all TV shows sell the same, tired, cookie-cutter, mind-numbing garbage. If any show should be allowed to tell its full story it's Carnivale.
Please don't cancel Carnivale! Here in the Netherlands we are still in the beginning of season 1 but i am hooked on it. I think that if it needs three seasons to tell the story you can't cancell it before it's done.
This was the best show on TV, maybe the best ever. I only watch sports and HBO series, nothing else. But the fact that HBO will cancel a series in the middle makes me uneasy about committing my time and interest in their series, which they have now proven they will truncate whenever they wish. For instance, it affects how much interest I have in Deadwood, which I presume also could be similarly killed off dead right in the midst of its complex and fascinating story.

CARNIVALE was the ONLY show I made a point to see every week. Not just the initial showing, but then the west coast..HBO2... With the cancellation of CARNIVALE I'm afraid HBO IS just "television"
The only reason I have HBO is to watch Carnivale. I'm now forced to cancel HBO and sign up for Showtime so I can watch Daniel Knauf's next masterpiece.
