This petition was created to protest the formatting changes currently underway for CBS's hit show, CSI.

The changes include separating the cast into two groups, the introduction of a new character and the rumour that these changes will indeed be permanent. CBS has justified these changes by stating that it is realistic, that real life CSIs shift jobs and positions all the time.

As fans of the show, CSI, and television in general, it is important for us to make it known that we are unhappy with these changes. That the ensemble dynamic is one of the main reasons we, as viewers, tune in from week to week. That by altering the format, breaking the group apart and introducing new CSIs, the show will not hold the same appeal it once did.

While CSI is a procedural drama, the majority of us viewers watch, not only for the cases, but for the interaction between the characters and the chemistry between the actors. The planned format changes will remove this element, forever altering the very reason CSI has become a household name.

Please, sign the petition, tell CBS and the producers of CSI that we:

a) Feel the ensemble cast is large enough as it stands and that we are not interested in the introduction of new cast members.

b) Do not want to see the team split into two, thereby limiting character/actor interaction and dramatically altering a show we know and love.

Please, help us fight to return CSI to what it once was, to the show we first fell in love with.
