This is the smartest TV show - I'm tired of all the reality shows or shows about Britany or Miley - who cares!
There are more baby boomers in the world than those < 50 and these boomers definately don't give a hoot about Britany or Miley.
I'm under 50 & I enjoy Boston Legal - the best tv show available.
I support this petition. If they take BL off the air where will I get my snappy courtroom comebacks? I'm over 50 and can't come up with this stuff on my own anymore.
I don't usually recommend TV show finales to watch, but if you want to see what promises to be a
hilarious and fitting end to one of the least promoted but most insightful and unique shows left on
network television, check out the 2 hour series finale of Boston Legal on Monday night at 9 Eastern
on ABC.
This show has been "under the radar" of both critics and viewers for much of its 5 year run, but it
has consistently been at the top of its game as writer David E. Kelley has not been afraid to pull
punches and use hard hitting facts and opinions to stimulate the storylines and at the very least
make the viewers think a little while having a good laugh, if not several.
The writing has been excellent this season, a bonus 13 episodes after what seemed to be writing
on the wall from ABC executives prior to last year's writers strike that shut down production of
many new dramas and comedies. The cast has remained top notch, and John Laroquette, William
Shatner, James Spader, Candice Bergen, and many others have made this show one of the best
ensembles left on the air today.
This week's episode included a very appropriate jab at the big networks by Laroquette, in the
traditional courtroom settings that have been so popular, with guest star Betty White being
represented in a case against network television for not programming for older viewers. In the
scene he is stating their case to the judge, when he says that the only network television show
still on TV that is not afraid to hire cast members over 50 is, "B...", to which he abruptly stops
and acknowledges as the camera shows 4 different angles, "which I can't say it because it
would break the box around us". That was classic.
This show and its cast will be missed. Don't let it go out without a big splash in the ratings...
ABC deserves some serious egg in its face for canceling this one.
I just don't get it. Why would the networks (in this case, ABC) cancel a show that has good ratings, a great ensamble cast, and that in it's fifth season, receives 7 Emmy nominations, and still gets canned. I know that the networks can't please EVERYBODY but it's really frustating when they cancel great shows "just because".
What's next, Fox cancels House M.D.? This is the price we pay for living in the "reality show era" where real crap gets renewed over and over again. Disgusting and sad.
Boston Legal is Americas last hope for a informed and nation. This show presents the everyday issues in a extremely witty and hilarious format. I would lose a little bit of myself if I can't get my weekly Deny fix. SAVE AMERICA'S LAST HOPE!
I support this petition.
Why is the best of TV becoming extinct, leaving anyone over 45 or with a brain in their head left with nothing but nonsense??!! It really doesn't make any sense...it must be that only young dummies are making the decision to cancel these great shows.
I support this petition.I thought ABC Execs were a little smarter than CBS Execs, after they let go one of the best new shows on TV.."Moonlight"..now Boston Legal is over...can't they see what we see every week when watching BL??...an excellent well written show with characters that we all love and can't wait to see...Laroquette's character was right..TV Execs don't care about us baby boomers over 50 that watch much more TV than their target group...
It is insanity that ABC is cancelling this show. It has more humor and more intellegence then any show on TV today. I hope they reconsider, or at least get pick up by another station.
Boston Legal is one of a small handful of exceptional shows on television. With nearly 10 million viewers, why is it that ABC refuse to promote the show? Is it because the ultra-liberal viewpoint of David E. Kelly, delivered via Alan Shore, make network executives nervous about advertising the show to a mass market audience? Then advertise to the literate, intelligent and liberally-minded viewers that the show appeals to! The cancellation of this show would be one of the most disappointing decisions ABC will have made in its entire existence. Please consider placing another episode order. Thank you!
I support this petition. A show I always record so I can watch it. Great acting, great issues, great fun, are just a few of the reasons this show should stay on.
Please, please ABC do not cancel Boston Legal. It is the best show on tv. I will purchase all advertisements items, whatever it takes! Please don't cancel Boston Legal.
I support this petition. I truly am not a TV watcher (i watch less than 4 hours a week) but Boston Legal is the ONLY show that I watch on a regular basis!
This is hands down the BEST show on television. It's thought-provoking, intelligent, witty, humorous, challenging, graceful, and so many more wonderful things. This is the one show I look forward to each week. It constantly challenges society and even though I don't always agree it's nice to keep an open mind and hear the other side. Please don't cancel such a wonderful show.
